Non League Midweek - 4/5th

Mr M will be along shortly with a ful list together with the odds.

Two games though caught my eye immediately.

Guisley v Whitby

Whitbyfinished 6th last season but have struggled so far this year. They have a legitimate excuse in that they have suffered badly with injuries. Their only win was at home to Lincoln who on the day had no recognised forwards.

They lost at home to Matlock on Saturday and reading the match reports it seems that a couple more players got hurt and had to come off. I cannot say at this stage whether any of the injured players are likely to return (and with football at this level we may not know the answer to that until after the game)

Big things are expected of Guiseley. Rich backers are on board and I think that they expect to be in the Champions League within 5 years. They have got off to a stuttering start with too many draws but at least they were against sides from the top end of the table.

Guiseley Evens

Re: Non League 4-6 September 006

Grantham v Leek

Grantham got off to an encouraging start by drawing against Telford.

Things have gone downhill since with 4 straight defeats. The disheartening thing for them was that they were mainly against teams who are expected to struggle this season.

At Radcliffe last Saturday they could not even muster a shot on target in the last 15 mins after the home side had had their keeper sent off and they had an out field dwarf between the sticks.

Reading the Grantham forums will tell you that they are bottom of the table on merit. They do not even attempt to argue bad luck.

Leek nearly went bust in the summer. Their stats of 1-3-1 isn't outstanding but the price is good enough for me to have a punt.

Leek 13/8

Just the lower step this midweek but still 3 divs to take a look at whilst I chill on my 23rd birthday.

Sok dude, good to see you getting stuck into the Unibond this season already, specialising in that cos its nearby I take it? Guiseley looks a decent one off the top of my head, Whitby were a pretty poor away side last season and their injury list is now very large as you say.

Just dropped in to say my wishes,:drums actually my locals do not offer coupons on the non-league games, or my bank would have swelled with all the superb analysis from you guys in the thread.

Re: Non League Midweek - 4/5th

Needled my interest down to a handful. The Ryman is the interesting league this midweek, some intriguing match ups there I feel. Shortlist below, might be a bet or 2 in there, just a case of working out if there actually is any true value to be had as some of the prices arent so chunky Again like the weekend nothing had 'Instabet' written all over it (my term for when you see a price and know instantly youll back it - like Grays last midweek for example) but at least theres some to be considering this time around.

Folkestone v Bromley @ 11/10
Carshalton v Heybridge @ 6/4
Worthing v Hampton @ 1/1
Walton v Margate @ 1/1

Clevedon v Chippenham @ 5/4

Guiseley v Whitby @ 1/1

Whole bunch of possible aways there in the Ryman, all 4 look very winnable. My local side Horsham travel to Boreham Wood who have drawn all 5 of their games 1-1 this season!

Also SportingOdds and Coral have no released coupons yet, hopefully they will and go bigger about something in that list.

Re: Non League Midweek - 4/5th

A much better coupon than Saturdays. Corals and Sporting Odds have released now btw and it's good to see Paddy Power getting involved with the lower leagues.

I'm on both bets that WAS mentioned and a couple of Muzes - Wimbledon and Chippenham.

I'll post the write-ups up soon.

Re: Non League Midweek - 4/5th

Just seen this about Grantham. Manager Lee glover has said that either they beat Leek or he goes....

From their Site....

The changes Grantham had to make at the back are felt by Glover to be part of the problem. “We lost two great defenders in Grant Brown and Martin Matthews. So far, we haven’t defended as well as we need to. At times it has looked like four individuals, not a unit.”

There could be a new face at the Meres for Tuesday night. “I have got to make changes there.” Glover said. “I am trying to get someone in for Tuesday to help me make the change and get the results I and the club need.” The situation for Glover is not helped by a recurrence of a back injury to Assistant Manager Adrian Speed. Speed could be out for at least three weeks and is undergoing a course of injections to ease his injury. With Danny Maddison on loan to Blackstones, Glovers options are limited.

Squad: (From) Walker, Bellingham, Weale, Bonsor, Julian, Watt, Sturgess, Glover, Robinson, Wade, McClare, Popple, Douglas, Sneddon, Turner.

BTW what the fook has gone on with the font? Is it my screen as it looks too small.

Re: Non League Midweek - 4/5th

Well this sucks a bit, was waiting for more books and in doing so a lot of the prices have been slashed! Was going to be on Bromley tonight but wait and see if beter than 11/10 would come out, I look now and best price 5/6 wtf!

Chippenham miniaturely clipped to 6/5 and Guiselys evens has gone and is now 10/11 so both of those I cannot go for now, not sure id have done either or not but id have liked the option

Annoyed about that Bromley one tonight, odd to see that in just your bog standard game like that, slashed to 5/6 from 11/10, and the 5/6 is only available at 1 place the others go lower, jeez

Re: Non League Midweek - 4/5th

Best price 4/5 now wtf MASSIVE price change, the 3 books just 12 hours ago that were available had them at 11/10, 1/1 and 10/11. Oh well nevermind. Just have to figure out if Heybridge, Hampton or Margate are worth a bet then otherwise no bets for me this midweek
