Ladbrokes price changes

I know someone started this last season but can't remember how if faired but here it is again - I think Lads are one of the shrewdest bookies when it comes too football odds and one of the stingiest aswell so when they cut the price something stinks

Shef Wed now 11/8 from 6/5 v Burnley now 8/5 from 9/5
Northampton now 7/4 from 8/5 v Nott'm Forest now 6/5 from 11/8
Hereford now 6/5 from Evens v Chester now 7/4 from 11/5
QOS now 2/1 from 13/8 v St Johnstone now Evens from 6/5
Alloa now 7/4 from 6/4 v Peterhead now 11/10 from 5/4
Brechin now 4/5 from Evens v Stirling now 5/2 from 2/1

Derek McGovern (ex Racing Post editor) mentioned this years ago in his book "sports betting and how to make it pay" that Ladbrokes had the best football compilers and that if they went lowest about a price you would make money by backing the same selection at the highest price. I tested this myself for a two year period and it simply doesn't hold up. I think someone here tried it briefly last season as well.

My 2p is that if Ladbrokes (or anyone else slightly out of line with a price on a team) takes a few lumpy bets from some known shredies that they cut their prices fairly sharpish.

Re: Ladbrokes price changes

i have to admit most of my nice value scots 1-2-3 touches have been with ladbrokes over the last few seasons. Hills constrain me but ladbrokes let me away with murder some weeks. As you can all see

Re: Ladbrokes price changes

I'm willing to be proven wrong but I fear it's absolute bollocks.

They all cut prices at different times to balance the book. For what it's worth, ladbrokes were the biggest price around at 4/9 on Newcastle yesterday when most places were going 1/3. Newcastle won.

Not exactly shrewd eh?

Re: Ladbrokes price changes

I tried a system with laddies odds at the start of last season , tried betting on the asian handicap , changed after a dismal start and had a go at laying matches where laddies gave the best odds for the opponents - another loser- so i gave it up ,but it was early in the season and never gave it a fair run.
I think beanie had some system based on laddies odds .
good luck with your system , it'll be one i will track

Re: Ladbrokes price changes

I'm still unsure how to play this because I don't know if any other bookies have changed their prices for the games mentioned and i don't want to back say Brechin at Evens in Lads shop coupon if 11/10 is available with Sky on-line. Till I work out a system or betting plan I'm gonna back all these singles on lads shop coupon - his week anyhow

Re: Ladbrokes price changes

I'd suggest you download the first show prices (Thursday) from Oddscheckers and take the prices again early Saturday. You'll be able to see who is driting and who is tightening at a glance.

Re: Ladbrokes price changes

Here are the latest best prices according to oddschecker, so you can still get the price that Laddies were originally quoting on most of them.

Shef Wed now 11/8 from 6/5 v Burnley now 8/5 from 9/5
9/5 Paddy Power (slightly higher on betfair)

Northampton now 7/4 from 8/5 v Nott'm Forest now 6/5 from 11/8
5/4 STANJAMES 6/5 most of the others.(Higher on betfair)

Hereford now 6/5 from Evens v Chester now 7/4 from 11/5
15/8 Sportingodds and Betfred (higher on betfair)

QOS now 2/1 from 13/8 v St Johnstone now Evens from 6/5
6/5 Betfred

Alloa now 7/4 from 6/4 v Peterhead now 11/10 from 5/4
6/5 extrabet, 11/10 most others

Brechin now 4/5 from Evens v Stirling now 5/2 from 2/1
10/11 Blue square and william hill

If you're going to run with this, the best think to do is to check the tightening odds with Laddies on a Saturday morning and take the best odds you can elsewhere. Looks like a betfair account would be a good idea too if you don't already have one. Although I usually find you can get better prices elsewhere on English Prem games.

Good luck.

Re: Ladbrokes price changes

You would have to to do hundreds of bets to come up with a meaningful analysis.

Re: Ladbrokes price changes

I agree Parahandy - systems just can't be worked out in a couple of weeks but I'm going to give it a try because I can remember looking a few weeks last year and sometimes beleive it or not there where NO price changes from net and shop coupon si it's gonna take a while

I think Ladbrokes prices in the Scottish game is a lot of the time way out in certain games. I see prices which i think is really out like the CIS cup with some odds that was away out. I don't know how the odds compiler is but he/she is not the best. William hills now i hardly ever bet with them.
