Re: Coca-Cola League Championship 9th Feb

Barnsley @ 4.5 away at Middlesbrough...

I'm all over that. Sure, there's a little bit of bias, but playing like we are at the minute, we can beat anyone. We've already taken 3 points off Boro' this season and after the last 3 performances in which we've beaten Leicester 1-0, Preston 4-1 and Watford 1-0, I can see us getting something at the Riverside. If you're not sure on the outright win, then the draw is also very tempting.

Other selections:

Cardiff to beat Peterborough.
Nottingham Forest to beat Coventry.
Palace/Swansea draw.
Newcastle to beat Derby.
Leicester to beat Doncaster.
Preston/Sheff Utd draw.
QPR/Ipswich draw.
Reading to beat Plymouth.
Blackpool to beat Sheff Wed.
Watford to beat Bristol City.
West Brom to beat Scunthorpe.

G'luck.

Re: Coca-Cola League Championship 9th Feb

An obvious pick but Newcastle must should beat Derby - shouldn't they ? I know its Newcastles home form that is holdinjg them in good stead but Derby are poor. I fancied Cardiff to maybe stop Newcastle at home but I was completely wrong there.

One of the commentators on Five Live mentioned in form Barnsley ST so I may have another wee look at them but as you've already pointed out - the price looks a bit big.

How did the Celtic rejects play on Saturday (i cant believe Strachan took all those duds - albeit this division seems to suit the scottish players for some reason)....... step in ODM to point out their shit and don't even deserve to be in this league but i'll let him explain

when your here odm - what do you think about Derbys chances ?

Re: Coca-Cola League Championship 9th Feb

QPR are very poor atm, I can't see them getting 3 points. Lost 3 in a row, haven't scored in yonks, and have sold there most creative player Wayne Routeledge to Newcastle. Losing Ramage and Leigertwood to suspension after their red cards on Saturday will leave them very exposed at the back where they are already short of numbers. Ipswich have hardly set the world on fire recently, but have ground out some points against teams far better than QPR.

Re: Coca-Cola League Championship 9th Feb

Yeah I like Ipswich and Barnsley too but mostly Watford look ok at home to Bristol City, 10 th best team at home v 20th best away team
Both these temas have won only 1 of their last 7 games however 5 of Bristols were at home and 5 of Watfords were awy.

Some team news from the beeb

Quote:
Watford are hoping midfielder Tom Cleverley passes a fitness test on the knee injury which kept him out of Saturday's defeat at Barnsley.
Winger Will Buckley will be included if he shakes off a thigh strain in time.
Bristol City are expected to be without top scorer Nicky Maynard and winger Jamal Campbell-Ryce.
Striker Maynard is doubtful after picking up a knock against Coventry, while Campbell-Ryce is struggling with a calf problem.
11/10 Is good enougth to tempt me

I'd put Derby's chances at slightly less than zero. In fact, exactly the same chance that I gave them of beating Forest the other week and a bit higher than I gave them when they scored their only victory in the Premiership the other year (against Newcastle).

In other words, I'm writing them off tonight. Whenever I write them off, they win

I see plenty of home wins tonight but Derby and Coventry probably won't be amongst them, whereas I think that Boro probably will.

Bitter sweet prediction there. Eight home teams out of 12 ahead coming up to half time but Coventry and Derby are two of those.

There's me celebrating Ipswich going 2-0 up only to find out on my betfair statement that I've somehow layed Ipswich instead of laying QPR

Re: Coca-Cola League Championship 9th Feb

I've got every sympathy mate. Done it myself. It's bad enough when you realise before the kick off but when you think you've won and go back to check it's even more of a sickener.

I had one the other week, can't remember if it was on Coral or Skybet but one of them has a confirm button to press after you've chosen your bet. Looks like I didn't see the bugger through and it cost me.

Had to bite my lip and resist the temptation to double my next bet to chase my "losses".

I'd suggest you do the same mate, and, as I say, you have my sympathy (which is worth precisely fuck all I know).

Lucky I didn't go in too heavy on it as my money was tied up in other events. They've just got one back too so you never know.

This league is so topsy turvy, anyone can beat anyone. Drives me nuts trying to pick winners.

Fair play to Derby though, that's Forest and Newcastle they've turned over the last few weeks.

Another win for Ipswich who are my tip to make a late storm for the play offs
