Re: FA Cup Final - 17th May 2008

Although goin against the trend set in this years FA cup, pompey shud win this came! however the downside being tht ther is no wothwhile odds on a portsmouth win. im thinkin 10/3 at my local 4 a draw at half time, with portsmouth winning the second half

Re: FA Cup Final - 17th May 2008

portsmouth moved in with some and the 4/5 is only left with bet365. I wish i had enough money as i think i would be on them heavy. i cant tie my bucks up from now till then so i will have to hope that price stays

Under 2.5 goals is the call.
Neither side have prolific goal scorers.

Re: FA Cup Final - 17th May 2008

komp i've followed you with a bet on Portsmouth , gone against all my nationalistic feelings, as I cannot see Cardiff a midtable championship side against a side that was going for the fifth spot in the Premiership before getting to the final of the FA Cup.

It has been a very succesful Welsh year in sport with the Rugby side achieving the Grand Slam and Calzaghe's victory against Hopkins , but I cannot see Welsh greatness being transferable to football...well not this year

Re: FA Cup Final - 17th May 2008

And I've just sprinted in here to say I'm taking the over 2.5 @ 2.25 bet365 - looks good to me.

I smell goals in this one. Premier league v Championship for starters and on their day, Portsmouth can bang in the goals as well as being a little dodgy at the back. There are enough results throughout their season suggesting it's possible. 2-2 start of the season at Derby too and Derby may be a decent comparison to Cardiff (no offence Cardiff). Looking through Cardiff's league results too and there are plenty of high scoring games to give me confidence. Yup.

And Cardiff's last league games go like this:

Football League Championship Cardiff 3-1 Blackpool 12-04-2008
Football League Championship Scunthorpe 3-2 Cardiff 19-04-2008
Football League Championship Wolves 3-0 Cardiff 22-04-2008
Football League Championship Burnley 3-3 Cardiff 26-04-2008
Football League Championship Cardiff 3-0 Barnsley 04-05-2008

It'll be in by HT I tells ye.

Re: FA Cup Final - 17th May 2008

One of the biggest events in the English football calendar and we have 3 Scots, 2 Welshmen and 1 bloody Englishman posting on the fucking thing. Guaranteed too the next posters are Irish.

Wonder if I can squeeze this smilie in yet. Errrm, the English are all

How about we run the country for you too! Eh? Aye! Come on. Any Portsmouth fans in? I still fancy some goals. More than 2 anyway.

Re: FA Cup Final - 17th May 2008

I'm not overly convinced with portsmouth, I know there a Prem side and got off to a great start albeit winning away game's searlier on this season but since Christmas they have been no great shakes and I don't think getting into a rut of defeats with this final on their minds lately will have done them any good either.

This is a once in a lifetime chance for both sides and in situatons like this i tend to favour the underdogs as they have a lot less expectancy on their shoulders, we must also remember Pompey no longer have Benjani who himself was instrumental in their great start to the season and his very able replacement Defoe is cup tied for this game which leaves Porstmouth very limited attacking options here.

I'm not saying Cardiff will lift the cup but they are more than capable of making a game of this as they have some wily old pro's at the club who gave 120% in the semi knowing this will probably be the last big game of their careers and I expect them to do the same tomorrow.

I fancy the draw tomorrow allthough I'f i were to have a bet I'd be laying Portsmouth at odds on , after that its just a lottery as it could well go to Penalties .
