I see jags are letting Under 16's free all next season.

May take wee man up this week.Betting wise I do like Morton though!

New logo as well. Big improvement!

C'mon the ton

News
Partick thistle football club. press release.
The club has just completed a successful season of consolidation under new manager Ian McCall and his management team of John Henry and Gerry Britton. The nucleus of a strong squad is now in place and under contract for next season, and youth links have been formed with Broomhill Sports Club in the West End.

A number of initiatives will be implemented over the Summer with a view to encouraging increased support and enhancing the manager's playing budget on an annual basis for the foreseeable future. Initial steps being announced today are as follows:

1. The Players' Fund is being launched in association with Citroen Glasgow, who are going to provide a car as a prize on a six-monthly basis. For as little as £20 per month, members will be entered in the draw, and have a chance of winning a superb car.

2. The Club's badge will be relaunched as shown in the picture attached. It is a modern reworking of the original PTFC crest, and is more in keeping with the heritage of the Club. The current badge has served the Club well, and the change is with the aim of encouraging the current support and targeting a new generation.

3. The Club will aim to be an ambassador for "Real Scottish Football", and from grass roots to the top level, the aim is to embellish and enhance the Scottish football experience for Partick Thistle supporters and sympathisers.

4. At the launch of the logo and slogan, a souvenir A3 programme one-off print, will be available at £5 per copy at our game against Greenock Morton on Saturday 26 April at 3.00pm. All under-16s will be admitted free to that game. Greaves Sports will provide a limited number of commemorative scarves for the occasion.

5. After serious consideration and assessment of the overall position, Partick Thistle will allow all under-16s free entry to all Scottish Football League games for the 2008/09 season. Past season ticket holders who wish to renew for under-16s will be allowed to reserve a seat at a price to be agreed. This will also apply to new reservations in that category, and the relevant prices will be announced with season ticket information for 08/09.

Further announcements and initiatives will be relayed over the Summer months. The Board of Partick Thistle appreciate that Saturday's game is an extremely important one for Greenock Morton, but hope that fans from both sides will have a memorable day out at Firhill this coming Saturday.

Re: 26th April Scots 1-2-3

baa barra baa dee baaa morning chaps. Last week of the season. Maybe we could have a bit of a party this week. I've brought a game and ive got 'my own clothes' on. We could maybe have a disco to bring it all to a close.

aye Partick should be a better team next season Betfly. I actually tipped them to win the leaghue this season As long as they keep Britton away from selecting the team or tactics they will be ok.

What price would you get for Laying Berwick though Spacecat? I think they might give alloa a game. Theyve gave them a game 3 (or 4 times inc the postponed at ht one) and theyve just got rid of their manager. I havent looked at odds or nowt yet but if i was an alloa fan i might well still be a bit worried about this weekend. Right lets have a look

Dunde v Hamilton is interesting in a 'means fcuk all now' way. could have been a big big game. Dundee just weren't good enough. I wouldnt like to suggest Hamilton can go there and win ..actually i aint bothering with htat game. Dundee could want to show Hamilton that 'their a good team too' illy Reid has really made Hamilton a tight outfit and they can go anywhere and get a esult Actualy well done Hamilton on a great season. Phenome..aye a great season.

Partick have been poor at home this season and i remember the last time Morton went to Firhill. all Partick and Morton fluked the win. Morton will have it all to play for this week and Partick wil be playing for pride. tough one to call for me Betfly and i think the bookies have Morton's chances a little too low. No bet for me. I wouldnt mind seeing Morton relegated mind so i will be hoping for a Jags win.

Clyde v Stirling is a big game for Clyde like the morton game is. again though at the odds of 1/2 and beyond i couldnt take clyde to do it. Poor at home all season and who knows. No bet for me

the other 2 games dont appeal but i do like the thought of under 2.5 in the Dunfermline game and over 2.5 in the St Johnstone game.

Ayr/Airdrie has another 1-1 draw written all over it to me. Actually nope i just dont know and i don't think i will be trying too hard to find out much more about it. Like anything this time of year though if there's some interesting team news in any game it could turn me onto it later in the week.

Cowdenbeath v QP - Pah another non event. Cowdenbeath to show QP that they could have stayed up 'if just they played better in more games'? No Gillfilian last week for Cowdenbeath and that puts me off them for a start. Aye no bet all in with this one.

alloa 1/4 noooo whaaaayyy hoseeee Maybe it's just me but i couldnt take them at that price. Im sure that they were 8/13 or similar for the same game earlier this season. they might be 2/5 for this but they aint 1/4 imo As mentioned earlier Berwick got rid of their manager the other dy and we all know what that can bring.

Brechin and Peterhead games i dont even want to talk about. They'll have one ear on the Alloa game and that could swing it either way. If Alloa are 4 up in 30 minutes im sure both teams heads will drop and they will just go through the motions (bring on all the subs etc)

I aint gonna find anything in div 3 i just know it.

mmm Stranraer i prefer away and Arbroath have been very poor this season. Need to look at h2h's but Stranraer at 6/4 might be a bit of value. Infact it IS a bit of value. I'll be on the ht/ft too at 7/2

Elgin have done ok v Stenhousemuir this season i belive but Cityfan could tell us all more. Stenhousmeuir seem to have their injuries again. Stenhousmuir have went back to being their inconsistant selves again and maye i shouldnt touch any of their games with a barge pole.

Oh aye East Fife Even money with Bet365 Could be interesting. Need to read up but albion have been poor at home and although they picked up a bit there they were poor at least in their last game. Gemmell out for them they have quite a ot of injries and a quick read of the albion rovers foru and site could be quite revealing. If East fife are laying at least some of their 'names' they might just enjoy the last game of the season too.

East Stirling are the team that needs to win this but i cant help thinking montrose at 138 at Bet365 is well worth a look. I will guarantee that that price will drop. East Stirling have been ok under new manager but they are still lacking upfront and im sure top scorer Brand plays in the midfield. rogers has been murder and Savage hasnt doen much. Need to read more and team news will be interesting. montrose have done well v East Stirling last few seasons though the games might have been tighter than the scorelines could suggest

Forfar v Dumbarton is a horrible game and i aint even so sure forfar care about not finishing bottom. Under 2.5 but then i wouldnt even take that at odds on.

i was just thinking then about how at school at christmas and end of year you would have to do a series of dances in the main assembly hall. you would do that one that everyone lines up in 2 rows and you and a girl would whisk yourselves up the middle, do a wee turn and a pat of handds and then hold hands and skip al the way back down. All the while the others will be clapping their hands in time to the music. Billy Connolly mentioned it once and i think it was the gay gordons. almost like another world

Game to avoid betting wise. The battle for 5th place, woooo the excitement

With only 3 players contracted for next season so far and a lot of interest from higher leagues for some of these players, it will be a lot of players last game for Elgin City. So that can either go two ways, it'll either mean they'll play a blinder as its thier last game or they wont really give a shit now we've missed out on playoffs and go through the motions.

Zander Sutherland goes back to playing SPL football next season (where his talent and skill belong) and has enjoyed his spell at Elgin a lot, so i think he'll want to go out with a bang and at the ground on saturday, im having a large punt on him FGS and LGS and to score a hattrick. But for everyone else, dont touch this game.

Re: 26th April Scots 1-2-3

Stranraer and Montrose are the best value on Saturday. I did say last week im done with scottish football betting for the season, but i think a large double on these day might have to happen.

Elgin have played both Stranraer and Montrose the last two weeks and in both games, both teams had already secured their playoff spot, so really didnt have anything to play for, but both put out strong sides, both took it seriously and both beat us 3-2 lol.

Aswell as momentum going into the playoffs, Stranraer will be looking for the pyschological advantage over Arbroath. Arbroath beat them 3-0 at Stair park last time and if stranraer dont win on Saturday and went into the playoff final vs Arbroath, then Arbroath have a massive pyscological advantage over Stranraer being undefeated against them. So im pretty positive Stranraer will be dying for a good win over Arbroath ahead of the playoffs and there is no doubt Stranraer are by far the better side.

Montrose didn't take it easy vs us and wont against shire on Saturday. Shire have missed thier chance to avoid bottom against Dumbarton, they are surely doomed to bottom spot. The last thing Montrose will want going into the playoffs is a defeat to the worst team in Scotland.

This double almost pays 5/1. Thats great value imo and has to be the scottish bet of the weekend.

But what do i know? I said Shire winning last week was a sure thing.

Re: 26th April Scots 1-2-3

aye i think stranraer look like a must back bet for me Cityfan (ps i gave you some advice on LOVE in the love thread in Gen Chat forum Cityfan ) Team news will have to be important though but i dont think Stranraer have enough players to play a 2nd string.

Aye elgin sound as if they could give you guys something to cheer about Cityfan and you'll all be hopefull for next season. I cant thin of how the games have panned out with Stenhousmuir but im pretty sure you guys gave them a game evey game. their injuries again could give the fans and manager something to blame for another poor performance.

Lets have a look at my SHORTLIST

Berwick 10/1 Sportingbet
Stranraer 6/4 general
East Fife Evens Bet365
Montrose 13/8 Bet365

I could yet be interested in Elgin Cityfan depending on team news at Stenhousmuir. If theyve players back rather than out then i could hold my horses

Re: 26th April Scots 1-2-3

O'm hoping Zander gets a chance before the season out with us if the SFL/SPL allow it (I think both clubs need to agree but that shouldnt be a problem).

Komp the season isnt over yet, we've got playoffs to get through, should be a couple of cracking games there no matter who is involved in the scraps, definitely punting games to come.

Re: 26th April Scots 1-2-3

Elgin's record with Stenny is Won 2, drawn 1 Komp.

Anotherspacecat - I hope Zander is giving a chance at Caley, he's a great talent. I dont know what the rules would be on letting him play for Caley after Saturday, but it would be good to see how he gets on in the SPL.

Re: 26th April Scots 1-2-3

if they try at all they will demolish a very poor side in albion rovers......who were very very poor last saturday.....stranraer beat them 3-0.....it could have been 10........albion are down to the bare bones....loads of injurys and suspensions.......if they play as bad this saturday and east fife are up for it i can see a very big win here for the champions.....
