Things That Need Resolved

As the season comes to a close it would be interesting to see what teams have got big games coming up and to look out for. In Scotland all thats left is-

Morton and Clyde fighting it out for avoiding the play-off place. One game to go and Clyde are at home to Stirling and Morton travel to Partick. Morton need to match Clyde's result on Saturday and also Clyde must pull back a 1 goal goal differance. Gonna be interesting.

In Div 2 Alloa, Peterhead and Brechin are still fighting it out for the last play-off place. Alloa just need to beat Berwick at home to ensure the place is theirs. they have to be favourite. Peterhead will need a win or a draw at Raith and hope for a Berwick win. Brechin need to win at home v Chmapions Ross County and hope Berwick get at least a point at Alloa and that Raith Rovers avoid defeat.

East Stirling will be put up for league re-application if they finish bottom. they have to win at home to Montrose on Saturday and hope that Forfar don't win at home to dumarton. A draw for East Stirling could be enough if Dumbarton can beat Forfar by 3 goals.

Whats the in's and out in other leagues?

Thats not quite the situation with Shire. If they do finish bottom, then they are stripped of thier league status and downgraded to associate membership by the management committee. This doesn't mean that they need to re-apply to get back in the league, just that as an associate member, they no longer have voting rights on SFL matters.

They then need to avoid bottom spot for a further two seasons to regain thier membership and if they have not improved enough over two years to regain membership, thier associate membership is terminated and they then have to re-apply for league membership, which might even be a waste of time, as there will be a good number of clubs also applying for membership with better facilities, more money and will be more competitive.

Re: Things That Need Resolved

The Unibond Premier League come into the final week with teams still vying for the champion spot, play offs and incredibly, anyone of 12th to 20th position can still be relegated !

Take a look here at the table : Football League Tables - Footymad

Only 21 teams in the league so final round of matches are on Saturday. Also 2 tomorrow night, Leek v Fleetwood, Buxton v Frickley. Leek and Frickley both need points to avoid relegation, Fleetwood need the win to go top after Witton ( top most of the season ) drew at N. Ferriby last Saturday. Buxton need the win to secure a play off place.

Its incredible how close this league in terms of relegation has become. I wouldn't like to predict any outcome but I've never known a situation where any of 10 teams can still be relegated come the final round of matches.

There's no doubt Scottish 123 and non league are where the real excitement is these days, not the jessies falling down at the merest touch in the Premier leagues.

It's 2 of 8 to be relegated from the Unibond renrut, meaning Frickley are safe. Ossett's season done on 44pts and with Whitby to play Ilkeston the teams on 45pts are safe.

It's 3 from 7 in the Ryman and 4 for the last playoff spot in the Ryman.

In the Southern League Team Bath need to pick up more points than Kings Lynn this weekend to go up automatically.
