Re: 19-20th April English Premiership

Saturdays games

Arsenal v Reading
As I mentioned above no bet on the Arsenal game even though I can't see them getting beat but those odds don't interest me as they have slipped up far to many times this season in games that they should have walked never mind a poor team like Reading who will be fighting for their lives.

Reading would probably settle for a draw as they look to have the easiest run in of all the troubled sides down the bottom of the Prem but trying to play for one against a footballing side like Arsenal would be suicidal so they should be looking to score hence the reason I can see a few goals in this one , overs may be the way to go here.

+2.5 goals

Fulham v Liverpool
Make or break time these last few games for Fulham and they couldent have picked a better time to play Liverpool really now they have 4th spot virtually sown up and playing Champs league semi midweek.

Benitez must be looking to rest his better players here and the way Fulham played last weekend I wouldent be surprised to see them get a result, maybe not the win but they are more than capable of nicking a draw.

And with Liverpool odds on away from home this could prove a decent lay.

Lay Liverpool

Middlesbrough v Bolton
My hearts saying Bolton here as there a local side and I wouldent like to see them go down and they should put up one hell of a fight here but all season they have struggled on the rd and I can't see Boro just laying down and dying here as there one of those sides like Man City that just produce winning results spuriously and out of the blue.

Davies being out for Bolton is a big blow as since Anelka left they don't have to many attacking options and his departure also seems to have took Diouf off the boil who was looking impresssive until then.

I'd like to see Bolton do it but I have a feeling Boro are just to strong up front , even more so now Alves is finding his premiership feet.
close game but I see Boro nicking this by the odd goal.

Middlesbrough Win

West Ham v Derby
I know Derby are bad but anybody taking West Ham at those odds must want their heads testing as they packed up and went on Holiday weeks ago probably to avoid getting any more Injuries as they seem racked more than ever by them this season.

On paper mind they still look hell of a lot stronger than Derby but with nothing to play for this could well turn into an exhibition match with goals a plenty which could be the way to go here.

+2.5 goals

Wigan v Tottenham
Another local side who are in the shite but i wish all the best once more, I have more faith in Wigan mind as they are probably the form side of those down there in the bottom six and there crappy pitch could be the saving of them this season as opposing teams do seem to struggle on it.

It won't do a good footballing side like Spurs any favours either and again with nothing to play for I can't see them rolling their sleeves up and getting stuck in like Wigan will, long ball it may be but with players like Heskey to aim at it could make all the difference here.

Scharner and Valencia are also looking top notch this last few months and in what should be a blisteringly cold and wet day tomorrow up here i expect Wigan to do the business.

Wigan win.

Blackburn v Man Utd
I would have said it may be a good time to catch United on the hop with the Champs League semis coming up but there squad is just to strong for that, no new Injury problems to worry about and it looks like Vidic could also return for this one.

I should imagine Fergie will be putting out a fairly strong squad to gain an advantage then maybe rest players later on once the game is in the bag, Blackburn are no mugs mind but in recent yrs they have got nothing against United and I don't expect them to do so tomorrow either.

United win either 0-1 or 0-2

Bad news Slick. I agree with all of that

Although it wouldn't be the greatest shock in the world to me if Blackburn took a point from United as they always seem to make things more difficult for themselves than they need to be. It's almost as though they have a deal with Sky to take the Prem race up to the last game of theseason.

I assume you're doing your Sunday write ups now and you will be going for three home wins no doubt.

Was about to say the same thing myself as you had posted while I was writing that and for once we seemed to agree

I'll go and look at the Sunday games now, 3 home wins you say, could well be as I fancy City but I can't remember who else is playing brb.

Re: 19-20th April English Premiership

ehhm not so sure about 3 home wins here as both Birmingham and Sundrland have a lot to play for but its on the cards aint it.

Aston Villa v Birmingham
Tell the truth if this wasent a derby I'd go for Birmingham here as the points will be vital for them to stay in the Prem and up until a fortnight ago it could well have been the case but since then there as been a roll reversal where form is concerened.

But I suppose in a derby a lot can happen and the form book goes out of the window, hence the reason I think this will be a tight affair with Birmigham up for the fight.

Something tells me Birmingham are good for a point here, then when u look @ the prospective team sheets Villa look to be at full strength and a lot better side on paper. ehhm

Mcfadden for Birmigham also looks doubtful but tell the truth I think Zarate is a much better player all round and it could prove a blessing if he gets a full run out.

Have to go with my head here and say Villa win allthough I'm still gonna keep Birmingham on my 'must win' lucky seven.

Villa Win.

Newcastle v Sunderland
Another derby where the away side wouldent say no to all 3 points to virtually gurantee safety but its a bad time to be catching Newcastle after such a disasterous season and they will be wanting to win this game to give the fans something to smile about and keep their run of form going.

I've been impressed with Sunderland of late but last weeks match against Man City showed signs of tiredness as the Blues were there for the taking.

Still Sunderland have a lot of British players who know what this game means to the fans and I'm tempted sit on the fence a wee bit and take the draw but as the Qulaity players lie with Newcastle and that new found bit of confidence they have found recently gives them no excuses for not winning this.

Newcastle win

Man City v Portsmouth
Both sides are very similar in every way shape and form so I'm gonna go with home advantage and give this one to city.

Portsmouth have no real incentive to win this as they have had a great season and should be winding down now for the cup final, I keep saying that I know but they will do sooner rather than later.

whereas City if were lead to believe the reports are under a bit of pressure at the moment from Frankie to keep on producing till the end of the season or a few of them will be out the door come the end of the season including management.

Read into that what you will but its certainly created waves this week and hopefully will have a positive effect and keep some momentum going from last weeks win at Sunderland, it wasent a great win but it could be the boost the players need from now until the end of the season as they looked g'eed up towards the end of the game when in recent weeks they have looked a bit stale.

Portsmouth don't have a great record against City either and who Knows maybe Benny could even grab a winner as he's due one as are City a home win with only one in the bag since the new yr.

Man City win.

ODM was right for once, three home wins it is.

Never miss a chance do you tosser?

What I should have said was to only score one goal.

Two mistakes in two weeks in not too shaby.

Go away and write another book that nobody wants to read imo.
