Re: 1st April: Scottish 1-2-3

gonna read this about the first game. Interesting to note that Kettlewell was suspended for this one too-
The Pie Shop > Queens Park 0 - 1 Cowdenbeath

doesnt tell me much. need to read more. Yes Cowdenbeath's main goal threat has gone (Pat clarke) but theyve done ok on their travels. Im thinking that the 2-4 game a few weeks ago could have suited Queens Park. everyone knows that their a good passing side. maybe cowdenbeath's tight pitch could have suited that style. Nah maybe not. I suppose passing sides would prefer a bit of room to knock the ball aout (like QP's Hampden) I dunno though. Nice and tight, 1-2 football. I better go read that 2-4 game.

Interesting to note Cowdenbeath are unbeaten in their last four visits to Hampden. well slightly interesting.

this could tell us more-
The Pie Shop > Cowdenbeath Vs Queens Park

Kettlewell sent off last time and QP still went on to win

Not a lot of positives to take from a 'betting on Cowdenbeath' perspective so far

Quote:
We were playing against ten men for the whole of the second half so how come we failed to get a single shot on target (or even a corner) until five minutes from the end? Meanwhile the short-handed side scored three times.
Hold on QP got 2 penalties. Maybe there is more to this.

Quote:
The second half was brilliant from QP. We kept the ball brilliantly and the defence was solid. Both penalties were stonewallers and Trouts stuck them away easily. Cowden weren't up to much and every time we went forward we looked like we could have scored. The counter attacks were brilliant.
Are we just kidding ourselves Cityfan Hold on maybe thi paints an more accurate picture-
Quote:
I'm a pro-Cowden fan never really been a pro-Welsh or anti-Welsh man. That was a shambles though on Tuesday. QP fans are mistaken though if they think it was mainly the quality of their play which won them the game. It was Cowden's demoralised side that gave them the game. Man for man Cowden have a better squad and some talented players (not all were playing). Up to early December we were looking good since then morale has slumped and the players are no longer responding to the management as far as I can see. I've seen Queens play a number of times over last 2 seasons and they are a good footballing side - but are the 2nd worst squad in the league - they were only 3rd in Division 3 last year and their team was weakened by the loss of star man Weatherston. However, it looks like we have self destructed and put ourself in the play offs. We also have the mark of failure - when all the 'luck' seems against you - own goals galore, letting QP score from halfway, conceding seconds after we score, losing to late goals.

Much to think of but in the crazy world of midweek Scottish football i still think that Cowdenbeath could be up for this and maybe be worth their price. Im away to read some of their recent away reports.

Re: 1st April: Scottish 1-2-3

Well.hy don't we follow the simple logic. It is Livi need to win Dundee need to win and their opponents don't need it.
The thing that needs some check is are Queens going to field some experimental line up, and I somehow expect it.
Dundee would be favs even if Partick needed a win, so why not now. All I can see is that double makes sense.
Dumbarton Forfar I will avoid, can be a draw, who knows. I dont.
And Cowden need to win as well, but it is cowden, I can imgine them playing some weird tactics, QP trying to keep the game quiet, and finally every tactics gets blown to bits and we have something like 4-3 or 4-6 final score. Over would be just enough. MAybe even for a treble

Re: 1st April: Scottish 1-2-3

Someone will need to explain to me why Dundee are evens. I know Partick don't get beaten much at Firhill, but this is the classic nothing game for them. Trouble spot could be the pitch...I know a lot of teams have struggled on it because it's hacked up by the rugby team, but this is do or die for Dundee. I'd be going nearer 4/6 on them.

Re: 1st April: Scottish 1-2-3

Wouldn't be on Cowdenbeath tonight Komp given their recent form and Queen's recent upturn in fortunes.

The last team I saw Cowdenbeath they looked a poor lot while I've always felt that Queen's were no where near one of the worst in the league. Like you say, they're a decent passing outfit but seem to stuggle to turn that into goals. Kettlewell, though, is key for them and is a player I'd certainly take at Airdrie.

A draw wouldn't surprise me.

Well Komp, even though we both knew the form guide didn't favour Cowden, but both thought it was worth backing them and were quite right.

Thank you Partick Thistle :D
