Its hard to look past the difference in class that there is between the northern and southern league sides. I fancy Cork to beat Dungannon comfortably but the only thing holding me back is the fact that the Southern League sides are only in pre season however last year they still won the majority of games. Dungannon are also going for three wins in a row. Drogheda are the reigning eircom league champions and should have enough in hand for Cliftonville who from reports on bbc.co.uk may have to use some fringe players.

St Pats to win their group.2/1 (general).

I fancy pats to win all their home games and pick up at last 4 points away. That should be enough to top the group. Pats have strenthened and prepared well over the pre-season (dempsey from yeovil, ex aberdeen) and Full international O cearuill at centre half. He is the business at this level. I feel they will be far too strong for the 3 british teams in the group who will all take points off each other. Havent got time for a proper write up. I just feel 2/1 is huge.

I'm gonna write off glentoran completely.

I would agree with you on st pats, glentoran are useless at the moment and shouldnt count at this level.

I'm not gonna bet on tonights games actually. Have to run to the bookies and I'm not in the humour for that. The 2 eL teams doubled is definitely the way to go. Drogs have some squad, as do Cork. Dungannon aint bad at home though, we (pats) drew 2-2 up there last year and cork drew there too ( i think). hhmm. Should be interesting though.

Tough Mooney (tough his team relegated he was best scorer last year) joined them and gathered one of the powerful squad there; Cork with a new line-up and hopefully new harmony probs; some missings also [Defenders Neal Horgan, Sean Kelly (both groin) and Billy Woods (ankle) all miss out, while midfield duo Colin Healy (knee) and Colin O’Brien (groin) are also sidelined] can have difficult time against Dungannon...

Drogheda Utd- Cliftonville; Considered a surprise at first; Champs might get in downtrend after the success last year theory; But Cliftonville seemed not a team to make this surprise; Drogheda have some missings but they have squad from last year used to play together; I remember them playing with some bench players and winning against the odds..

The class of the eircom league sides shone through and bar linfield i dont think the other 3 teams will pick up many points.
