Celtic have been bang on form in recent weeks, hitting five in each of their last two away games and Saturday's opponents Hearts know exactly how Kilmarnock and Aberdeen will have been feeling, having themselves been on the end of a 5-0 thrashing in the east end of Glasgow earlier in the season.

Hearts have undoubtedly improved since that day in August and have won three and drawn one since a 4-1 defeat to Dundee United on January 2 but it's difficult to see them repeating their 2-0 CIS Cup win at Parkhead at the weekend.

Given Celtic's form in recent weeks - the January transfer window seems to have given everyone at the club a huge lift - it's no surprise to see them at ridiculously short odds to win the game, so we will look to the anytime goalscorer market instead.

Scott McDonald heads the scoring charts in Scotland by five goals from Hamilton's Richard Offiong and we like the look of him to add to his tally against an often porous Hearts defence.

The Australian has hit five goals in his last three games and has nine in his last eight in the league at Celtic Park.

Given those statistics he will really fancy his chances of netting against the second-worst defence in the SPL.

Outwith Rangers, McDonald has scored against every SPL team bar Hibs and Inverness and netted in a 1-1 draw against the Jambos at Tynecastle in December.

It is also worth noting he has taken three of the champions' four penalties this season and with winger Aiden McGeady on top form, McDonald should be presented with opportunities on Saturday.

We are therefore surprised to find McDonald available at 6/5 to score anytime with bet365, given that he is no better than evens everywhere else, and we are more than happy to take that bet on.

Celtic have banged in 10 goals in the past 2 games, can see another rout here against in form Hearts.

Motherwell "away" to Gretna also looks a good bet, and also Rangers for obvious reasons, playing a struggling Killie side who just don't look like they want to win atm.

the price of st mirren is too high for me, said it before the game in midweek, not sure if i have the guts to follow that up though, may have missed my chance already with the cat being let out of the bag away to united midweek

As I know Gretna play their game in Motherwell stadium.Resent form of Gretna is so poor, they play just like lower league team.
That should be banker for tomorrow.
But...as I've read almost all posts members sand until now(I must say it's really helpful),I'll wait for some new info about this game, and let the pro do mans job.

Re: 16-17th Feb Scots Premier League

agreed on motherwell and celtic, looks like the only two that'll interest me in the SPL on saturday. outside interest in inverness.

celtic looks to be a strong side after the winter transfer window, gotten some useful players i'd say. they're still four points behind rangers, dropping more points will see their chance of league title slip even further away. reckon they should see hearts away, although the visitor seemed to haf pick themselves up lately. no significant injuries on either side. maybe a punt on the AH

gretna looks destined to go down, their latest 4-2 reverse to hibernian wun do anything good to their confidence as well. it's been quite a while since motherwell played away, but going by form they should edge this. 1 point behind dundee with 3 games in hand, they do haf a genuine chance of finishing best-of-the-rest this season if they can dispatch the lower-half teams. not much physical advantage, both played midweek game. but motherwell had striker porter returning(second highest scorer for his side after clarkson)punt on AH recommended as well.

Re: 16-17th Feb Scots Premier League

This week i'm om more Gretna bashing

Got Motherwell HT/FT 5/4 with coral

reasons are fairly simple I HATE GRETNA

no fan base,no ground bought their way thru the divisions and have dumped quite a few of their players.
They've got quite a few loans in & they still need time to settle in.....

Sooner put down the better!
