Charlton take on Watford in a massive top-of-the-table clash in the Championship on Saturday and the hosts are fancied to win what should be an entertaining encounter.

Alan Pardew's men will have been disappointed to leave Sheffield Wednesday with only a point in midweek, and with most of the sides around them winning, Charlton find themselves seven points behind league leaders Watford heading into this one.

Since the turn of the year Pardew has claimed that the title is still very much their's for the taking as they have all of the top teams scheduled to come to the Valley at some point, and with two of those sides, Stoke and Crystal Palace, already having come and gone with zero points to their name, the Addicks are keeping up their end of the bargain by claiming the wins.

It was only four weeks ago since these two sides met at Vicarage Road in what ended a 1-1 stalemate - there is no doubt that Watford seem to have come through their two month slump before Christmas - and Aidy Boothroyd must be delighted that they have now found their way back to the top of the league.

With three straight wins to their name the Hornets do not seem to be missing Marlon King and with 10 victories on the road, Charlton will know that they will be in for a tough afternoon on Saturday.

However, the one key area that Charlton are excelling in at present is at the back with just two goals being conceded in their last five league games and if they can shutdown the threat of Darius Henderson and Nathan Ellington on Saturday, you sometimes wonder with Watford where the goals are going to come from.

Prior to their recent hot run of form of winning three on the bounce, the Hornets had only won one of their other four games since the turn of the year, and it will be interesting to see how they deal with the pressure now that they are back on top spot.

For Charlton, being seven behind they know that the talking stops now and that a huge performance is required if they are to stay in the hunt for a top two finish, and with that in mind and home advantage crucial, the Addicks at 6/4 are the pick.

my bet in this league this week has got to be Norwich , who at the start of the season could not get an away win to match their decent home record , they are to of the current form league , results from their last six matches is enough to convice me
Norwich City Hull City 1:1
Cardiff City Norwich City 1:2
Norwich City Preston 1:0
Southampton FC Norwich City 0:1
Norwich City Leicester City 0:0
Barnsley Norwich City 1:3

Norwich @3.0 with VC

Cant agree with bettingzone..Watford are terriffic away from home reading 10-3-3 and also had a super battling performance midweek. Down to 10 men they still battled to victory. A better side than the addicks in my opinion.

FT Stoke C. 3 - 2 Scunthorpe U.
FT Charlton Athletic 2 - 2 Watford
FT Hull C. 1 - 1 Colchester U.
FT Ipswich T. 2 - 1 Blackpool
FT Leicester C. 4 - 0 Norwich C.

Unlucky Cinny and errrr unlucky Traeth soz Traeth. The worst tip i ever gave was When Stenhousemuir got beat 5 or 6-1 by East Stirling last season. Makes you wonder why we bother sometime. Anyone got any thoughts on tonights game?

Bristol City's Louis Carey is unavailable as the defender is recovering from a foot injury.

Jordan Walker remains sidelined with a serious knee injury and is unlikely to feature again this season.

Winger Paul Ifill could return to the Crystal Palace line-up as manager Neil Warnock looks to end a run of four games without a win.

But Warnock will be without midfielder Mark Kennedy (Achilles) and defender Tony Craig (shoulder).
looks a tough one to call.

Well Komp, as I see from your current form post, City lie second while Palace are in 13th without a win in 4.
2.26 for the home team looks a value punt to me!

I fancy Palace to upset the odds tonight and get something from Bristol City. They've got all the ticks in the right box but I just fancy a wee upset.

Palace to win 3-1 @ 28/1
