Re: 9-11th Feb English Premiership
Hope ure right Parksy as i'll be screaming for City come KO to the final whistle but imo we'll be to vulnerable down the flanks and thats where United thrive and will take advantage believe me.
I just cannot see anyway we can contain them with the players we have but hope we keep it to a minimum so at least i can go out for a pint come Sunday night.
If Benjani turns up and scores a hatrick then fair enough but pigs also might fly , Utd are good for at least two or three goals in this game and city will struggle to score one which just about says it all, unless the price of bacon goes up.

Re: 9-11th Feb English Premiership
you never know in derby games slick.....all depends on the day mate and a wee bit of luck.......im not saying utd wont win or anything.....they could win 3 or 4......who knows.....all im saying is expect the unexpected in big derby games like that......last derby game at the c.o.m everybody was saying all utd had to do was turn up to win......didnt work like that.....city won 1-0.....at odds of around 4-1 if i can remember......thats why the bookies are offering odds of around evens on utd minus a goal mate.....they know games like this normally dont go to form.......but as i said it could go to form and city might get hammered......but i wouldnt like to bet on it.....thats for sure......

Re: 9-11th Feb English Premiership
saturday games:
I smell value for the following.....
Newcastle win @5.1
Reading+05 @2.74
Derby+05 @2.82
no im not going mad, I dont think the games are as cut and dry as they seem. Villa are very beatable (they lost to fulham ffs) and owen will be up for this one after losing his England place.
Everton are missing the yak and he is a big miss, reading and the genius that is coppell will have something planned after the poor home result last week.
Derby to get something against the mighty spurs? must have drunk something that hasnt agreed with me? I think they will have one eye on the uefa cup next week and have failed to win prior to a europe game this season, losing to both Newcastle and brum in the process- hence my doubts.
good luck folks

Re: 9-11th Feb English Premiership
hafta agreed with most of what's already mentioned, although it seems a lil bit too straightforward to be true, surely we'll be seeing some upsets at the end of the day...
the trio of spurs, everton and westham interest me the most. spurs are on the uptrend after a disastrous start to the season, they had man utd on the backpedal for most of the match at white hart lane, only to concede a late heartbreaking goal. although they may not be the most convincing when travelling, ramos has certainly turn this side into a hardy unit. still a long way to go for european qualification, spurs will need to nail tis type of match to haf any chance. derby? relegation candidate No. 1, hard to gather any sort of motivation if u're a derby player, spurs up to -1 on AH will do nicely.
everton winless in their last couple, including the "undeserving" draw at blackburn, where they should haf gotten 3pts if not for a wrong offside call. they did pretty well against blackburn to be honest, being the more threatening side throughout the match. against reading, one of the weakest traveller in EPL, everton will do well to snap their winless streak. reading was involved in a couple of high-scoring matches tis season, that speaks a lot about their leaky defence. everton up to -1 on AH recommended.
lastly, westham at home vs birmingham. tis should be the toughest of the three, the hammers haven been all-conquering at home, but last three home matches haf given their hope that their home form is turning good. birmingham isn't the best traveller as well, their inability to win at home vs derby, and the loss to sunderland speaks a lot about their quality perhaps. yes they could spoil the party, but based on form it seems like the hammers will edge tis, although you gotta be wary of which westham side turn up today. westham -1/2 the way to go.

Re: 9-11th Feb English Premiership
Cant really share the sentiments on an easy everton win over reading.
Yes, I know reading have been shite lately, but I just have this feeling the match will be a tad more difficult than the odds reflect.
If im on everton, I want something bigger.
Looking at reading +1 for a small flutter, cant see beyond a 1 goal everton win, and feeling it wont be as easy either!

Re: 9-11th Feb English Premiership
Evertons price puts me off too and with no Yak there's enough doubt to swerve.
I like Villa there against the terrible barcodes and Chelsea at home evens!?!?!?!

Re: 9-11th Feb English Premiership
My eyes nearly popped out of my head when i saw Chelski were 5/6 on my laddys coupon, thats a massive price for a top 4 club at home albeit against another top 4 side. Liverpool and Benitez have a very poor record against other top 4 sides and with Torres out and Kuyt rumoured to be leading the line that price looks even bigger! FAT frank is also near a return, may wait for definitive team news but this looks a decent shout to say the least!!!

Re: 9-11th Feb English Premiership
I think there might be value in couple of these today...
Newcastle are bigger than 4/1 to win at Villa. I know Villa are doing well but also think that Keggy will get a result eventually. Owen will have a point to prove after warming the bench on Weds and Villa are without Agbonlahor. Mmmm I might be tempted with small 'un.
I have an almost pathalogical dislike of Boro (although I think its more to do with Southgate and his brand of football) and could also be tempted to go against them today. It was good to see Bullard back to form last week but Fulham haven't won away from home in the league all season. Alves may also make his debut for Boro so its hard to make a case for a Fulham win. Think I'll leave this one actually.
Wigan could be a good shout at Sunderland. They've been in decent form under Bruce and won 3-0 at the Stadium of Light in Jan. In fact Wigan have a 2-2-0 record in the last 4 at Sunderland and lost just once in the last 8 between the two. Aye 27/10 looks not bad.

Re: 9-11th Feb English Premiership
Aggy missing for Villa is a bit of a blow, but when you check out the Newcastle side it's tough to see where the threats will come from...that back 4 will conceded....guaranteed...plus Simth keeps Viduka out?...madness I tell you...MADNESS!!
lumper Villa!!

like you trucasual i was amazed that Chelsea were available at evens , but one bet that stands out to me is the Chelsea D.N.B. @ 1.4 with sportingbet , I've been considering a max bet on this one , will await team news before risking my money.
[only placed a max bet twice last season , this would be my first this season]

Re: 9-11th Feb English Premiership
dont try to scare me guys
for me, everton is gonna win 3-0 or 4-1
who the hell is yakubu??? i watched many of african games, truly very poor performances by most of known players like yakubu, i think moyes has much more weapons in attack line,
reading is very bad, i think they will be relegated by the end of season,i posted this prediction months ago
good luck

Re: 9-11th Feb English Premiership
Thanks Keegan and the Newcastle players....5/2 Villa ...lipsmackngood.
I see Southgate in his infinite managerial wisdom has started with Mido and Alves on the bench.....fancy Fulham to get something early here.
Wigan have Heskey and King up front, with Koumas on the bench, Sunderland should get points again
Ramos has got Berbatov on the bench and Bent gets a start...mmmm, not that happy with Bent playing, but even worse is his persistence in fielding Prince Boateng!!...boy just loses possession for 90mins....Spurs are my bet of the week, but I stopped short of going maximum because I thought Ramos may just change things a little with it being Derby.
I like Birmingham starting with McFadden and Forssell with McSheffrey as well. West Ham have Cole and Ashton, so it looks like this could be a cracking game with the right attitude from the teams....and McLeish has a solid chance of points
Everton's midfield looks like a winning one....so AJ just has to put the chances away this time.
Could it be this easy?...feel very good this week, and Villa has been a great start...fingers crossed.
Good Luck.
Gentlemen...start your engines!!
