Re: Coca-Cola League Championship 11 Dec

I am interested in Burnley and QPR. Burnley has a new manager, improved their game drastically and have beaten several top teams away lately. Their record at home is bad this year, mainly from previous manager, but I don't suppose it will continue with the worst team in the league, which they have always beaten at home before. Burnley now have secured very good funding in the face of the new board member and have Premiership ambitions that pass right through QPR tomorrow.

Someone has interesting team news?

I'm also interested in Ipswich and their superb home record which i think is 7-1-0, surely that is good enough to dispose of Leicester and 1.90 isnt a bad price for it!

Burnley have been in great form of late including beating wolves on saturday evening away from home. I'd also think they'd have too much in the locker for QPR.

Burnely v QPR

Burnley I could be interested in at 1.70! They're in great form at the moment since Owen Coyle's arrival, though they've only drawn their two home games under his stewardship. They had been dominant in both though and should have won both comfortably. Whether that says anything about their mentality at home is another question!

QPR are bottom and have only won once away from home all season, albeit at Charlton. They've lost three of the last four and never seem to relish their travels up north, especially to Burnley where they've lost their last four games.

Blackpool v Cardiff

Can't really make much of an argument for either side, though was reading that of the last 17 visits to Bloomfield Road, Cardiff have picked up just 3 draws. The last meeting was in 2002 though!

Ipswich v Leicester

Could also be tempted with Ipswich, their home record of 8-1-0 is rather impressive, they've got no injury worries that I've read of and they've beaten Leicester in at least the last 7 games to be played at Portman Road.

Leicester have three players returning to the side tonight, DJ Campbell, Collins John and Matty Fryatt, though they still have a few players out injured. They were thoroughly outplayed in their last away game to Burnley and were beaten in their last game at home to West Brom.

Yeah I like Ipswich too at that price , they are as good at home as they are bad away. The home support is crucial and Leicester are really poor too at the mo.
Burnley should win but beating the best sides away doesn't equate to an easy home win v the bottom team , it's a whole new type of game with them having to make the running instead of working on the break.
It's just a niggle I have and wanted to share

Both home games under Owen Coyle have seen Burnley absolutely batter the away sides, they outshot Leicester 19-10 but had some brave defending, good goalkeeping and dodgy finishing to blame for failing to take all three points. They also out shot Stoke 17-4 and spent most of the second half camped in the Stoke half.

It seems like they're more than adept at taking the game to the opposition team rather than counter-attacking. I'll more than likely be on Burnely and I'd be a little surprised if they don;t grab the win tonight!
