aaaaa..aaaaa...allloooa. aaa aaaaaa allooooa aaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaa alloa... alloa athletic

were my initial thoughts playing at hampden (the rec should be the national stadium) but ive just read through the queens 2-0 raith match reports on pie and bovril, im always weary of going up against teams on the backs of solid away wins so interest ends right there.

elgin city away to albion rovers perhaps could be a shout. as could parksys hard-on for arbroath.. dunfermline cant lose for the rest of the year can they?

sorry ive just confused myself completely, this should definitely be a saturday morning pursuit.

Hmm, interesting to see your confidence in Arbroath, parksy!

We've not really been amazing in recent weeks... Saying that we're 11 league games unbeaten. Unfortunately the last 5 have been draws...

Last Saturday was a strange game, a very early penalty put us on the back foot from the start, and our arsehole of a striker got sent off for headbutting, so it was always uphill. We actually played a lot better in the 2nd half when we made a couple of changes, but it just wasn't to be.

The main factor this weekend i think is that Forfar are so awful!! It's also a local derby, and the manager is great at getting our players up for games like this. I'd hope it'll be the start of a nice run. Will be an absolute rout if we can play to our potential, but i'd be just as happy with a 1-0! Odds are quite short tho.........

Can't take much to please you Komp old son! The last time I saw Ayr involved in a classic was February 2000 when we beat Motherwell 4-3 in the Scottish Cup. 3-3 at half-time, end to end football - and Gary f'n Teale running riot for the Honest Men!!

Footage of the legendary match here:

YouTube - Motherwell vs Ayr United 26th February 2000 Scottish Cup

In terms of this week, I see Cowden as being overpriced. Our home record is 50/50 for wins/losses and we look very dodgy at Somerset. We did play very well in the cup at Partick on Saturday (and if we play like that in the league we should have no problem climbing the table), but the players were well up for it at Firhill...it won't be the same back in Div 2.

You'd look at the teams on paper and say we should win pretty easily on Saturday but you could never back us on current form. We're a law unto ourselves. And not a very impressive law.

top stuff parksy, will be having a nibble at east fife and arbroath on the handicaps myself...what're your thoughts on raith x2? they've been pretty decent away from home, and ross despite leading the table is a much better side away than at home...this will be a good chance for raith to close to gap to ross, although they probably will be happy with a draw as well...

my 4th bet is again arbroath minus 2.5 on the asian handicap with bet 365.....and for anybody that doesnt understand the asian handicap its just the same as minus 2......i think arbroath can do this with a wee bit of luck....rating for this bet is 7........

Re: 1/2nd Dec - Scottish 1,2,3

im also going to do arbroath minus 3 goals with my local bookmaker as bet 365 are not offering a price on this....i think it could be in with a chance if arbroath can get going early.....im getting 13-2 for that bet....all my other minus 3 goal bets have all won for me this season.....

Re: 1/2nd Dec - Scottish 1,2,3

that is me for this weekend.....im just hoping on a wee bit of luck on saturday....when you bet minus goals you need that wee bit of luck....you are never sure.....all it takes is a player sent off or a bad day in front of goal and maybe a bad ref..... thats the gamble......all i know is if forfar play like they have been playing this past few weeks arbroath should win this game with ease.....

Danq is on a distinguished road
Re: 1/2nd Dec - Scottish 1,2,3

First thing 2 suspended for Arbroath Rennie and Tosh ,McNalley out for Forfar,to short for me Arbroath no bet . Albion r v Elgin ,fancy Elgin a touch with 2 defenders out for Albion Donnelly and Donald, made them each the two so 2s not bad . Fancy St Johnstone to get something at firhill backed them on asians 0 ball Milne back in the scene a boost for Saints. E Fife i do fancy , Montrose with out defender Dobbins, also like Stenny on the asians 0 -05 ,injuries clearing and seem to be improving against Dumbarton . Brechin at 10 /11 v Berwick they have a few out plus miss key man Swanson suspendid.

Re: 1/2nd Dec - Scottish 1,2,3

i dont think it would matter if arbroath were playing their reserves against forfar.they would still win the game.....thats how bad i rate forfar.....one of the stenhousemuir fans said after their game last saturday that forfar were the worst team that he had seen since the very poor east stirling team of a couple of seasons ago....he said they were total shite.....that says it all........
