Re: Scottish Challenge Cup: 4/5th Sept

That 4/6 on Ayr is insanity. Quite apart from our recent good form, Forfar have totally imploded and lost the plot yesterday by having 2 men sent off for physically attacking East Fife during their 3-0 defeat. They were slated by their manager for throwing the toys out the pram and they seem to be collapsing from within.

I cannot believe this price. It should be nearer 1/3 because we'll make changes and bring in some very hungry players with a point to prove to Neil Watt - players like Weaver and Vareille who should be getting a game every week. In the last round we gave the 'fringe' players a run out and beat Hamilton at their place - so these are ridiculous odds.

I don't believe it - StanJames are going 5/6!!! Unless something drastic happens, this is beautiful.

Re: Scottish Challenge Cup: 4/5th Sept

i like the sound of it too Wet Sail. As you say Ayr's got them queing up to impress. I heard that Stevensons(??) goal on saturday was goal of the season. Didnt Ayr go somewhere not long ago in a cup and the team that they put out the fans were asking for them to be playing hte league games as they showed so much spirit?

Victor Chandler actually go 17/20 which is slightly better i believe. I was just gonna mention Victor Chandler's £50 free bet there as i have to but ive just noticed theyve improved their already great offer

East Stirlings cash injection seems to have attracted some ok players who seem to be playing well. Im sure Queens Park might rest a couple and i think they could be heading to their usual injuries and suspensions they always seem to have. Nah id need to read more. QP are ok in cups but then again i dont rememebr them doing much in this one.

Arbroath should give Airdrie a game although airdrie are no mugs. I need to read the team Airdrie put out last round. Montrose to beat Brechin anyone? Brechin with no Russell dont seem to have much punch to me poss. Johnston could enjoy himself upfront for them but im sure my big pal Mcgowne will have him in his pocket. Montrose have put in some great cup performances already this season.

Peterhead gave Kilmarnock a game in the CIS i believe. wont be easy for Morton but i could see them having something possibly to prove. I suppose Russell will be cup tied though.

2 draws on Wednesday night poss. Nothing to get over excited by barr your Ayr possibly Wet Sail.

Re: Scottish Challenge Cup: 4/5th Sept

Yeah, Stevenson ran from his own half and beat 5 or 6 men on the way to scoring yesterday. If a Brazilian had done that we'd be seeing it forever.

Like I said our last Challenge Cup game was at Hamilton and we made wholesale changes to the team but still beat them. In many ways we're stronger when playing the fringe boys because many of them should be getting a game in the first team, but Neil Watt has his favourites (Murray Henderson, David Hamilton to name but two), who he refuses to drop.

So Tuesday will be another good chance for guys like Weaver, Vareille and Wardlaw to come in and stake a claim against what is, frankly, a rank rotten side.

Here's the reports from both teams' games yesterday:

yes wet sail i agree with you on ayr.thats a big price.but that challange cup is dangerous for betting.ill have to do a lot of thinking before i can come up with a bet.ill post again on tuesday evening.i might even wait on the team line ups 30mins before the matches.they usually come up on sky sports website around 30 mins before every game.at least that way you know who your betting on.

I'm on (watch out) the 5/6 about Ayr with Stanley James.

With what I've read here this is a fantatic price but what i'm really here to ask is hw do we feel St johnsone will get on away to Ross County ??

The fact is I absolutely know jack schitt and I've lost a fortune on backing St Johnstone away fom home over the last 2 years and I really need to give myself a FANTASIC kick right up the RECTUM..................... reck't him I nearly killed the fucker

I am a cock and I dont think I'll take anybodies avice aboutnot backing the UPER J's away from home ------------------not even nil nil

or even

zip zip

or even

fuck all fuck all

Re: Scottish Challenge Cup: 4/5th Sept

my advice big keg man is to wait on a better bet than st johnstone v ross county....no matter what the odds is.challange cup a mickey mouse cup mate.....my advice is to wait untill the team line ups appear on sky sports website about 30 mins before the game starts and then decide what you are going to bet on......ross county are no mugs.thats a hard game for st johnstone even if the 2 teams are at full strength.st johnstones away form is crap.but they will come good very soon.....im sure of that....bad start but they will start to come good very soon.but as i said that challange cup is very dangerous betting wise.

I like all three of them players myself Wet Sail and i thought Weaver was the main man in midfield at the end of last season. Aye i like it betyter and better and im away to ...well i cant till i get paid.

at Kegman and his love of St Johnstone away. Look at their away form and you'll soon see how much the big man's lost on them. i shouldnt laugh Kegman im sorry. I see that you see that you always back them unreservedaly. 'right lads its going to be their week' 'no this week' ''well ill giv e it a try this week' 'fcuk it i have to bet them this week' 'surely its this week'

Throw them in the bin Kegman. they aint healthy for you.

Re: Scottish Challenge Cup: 4/5th Sept

Been told Forfar are playing awful. The win against Elgin is cos they are even worse, problems stemming from them losing all their good young players a few years back. Same problems as last year for Forfar and confidence very low

Re: Scottish Challenge Cup: 4/5th Sept

Ayr's line-up in the last round was:

Barry John-Corr, Craig Pettigrew, Eddie Forrest, Chris Robertson, Stephen Swift; Jerome Vareille, Paul Weaver, Ryan Stevenson, David Dunn; Gareth Wardlaw, Alex Williams.

Probably along much the same lines tomorrow. David Lowing, Craig Higgins and Mark Casey might come into the reckoning though.

Re: Scottish Challenge Cup: 4/5th Sept

Forfar apparently miss the two that were sent off at the weekend. Moffat is talking things up about how they need to show Ayr respect but will try to have a go. Rattary is till out for the Loons.

Ayr with full strength squad apparently and McLaren back. Cant see anything other than Away win here

Re: Scottish Challenge Cup: 4/5th Sept

Airdrie United v Arbroath

Second Division Airdrie United welcomes Third Division Arbroath. The home side has a full strength squad and their manager is expected to name the best available line up. In the previous round f the Challenge Cup they beat Third Division Stenhousemuir, 1-3 away. Arbroath on the other hand is coming from a morale boosting league victory over bottom club Elgin. In the previous round they beat Alloa 2-0.

There is a big difference between the quality of the two sides. Airdrie is much stronger and should win the match easily or not.
Airdrie United -0.5, -1 (1.79 BET1128)

Partick Thistle v Berwick

Partick Thistle welcomes last from the bottom of Division Two, Berwick. This will be Partick’s first match in the Challenge Cup. The Glasgow side is strong at home with their only defeat there being the one against Hamilton last weekend, 0-3. Berwick qualified on penalties in the previous round against Third Division Albion (1-1). Influential defender Alan Archibald, is back in the squad for the home side. The visitors will miss suspended Ian Little while Chris McGroarty is also rated doubtful.

Partick is a much stronger side than Berwick and will win this match.

Partick Thistle -1 (1.85 Canbet)
