Sheffield United 11/1...Nice...
Ssshh.... ...Don't tell anyone.. ..But I've been told by a reliable source.. .. that the Blades don't expect to be reinstated... However they expect to receive further compensation of around £10 - 20 million....
You heard it here first....

Charlton have confirmed that eight players have left The Valley after the club's relegation to the Championship, with striker Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink and defender Talal El Karkouri heading the list.
Hasselbaink, 35, scored just two Premiership goals for the Addicks after joining from Middlesbrough last summer while 30-year-old El Karkouri netted eight times during his three-year spell with the club.
Goalkeeper Thomas Myhre and striker Kevin Lisbie - who once scored a Premiership hat-trick against Liverpool - have also left the club.
The other out-of-contract players to be released are Nathan Ashton, Rurik Gislason, Alistair John and Myles Weston, while James Walker - who enjoyed loan spells with Bristol Rovers, Leyton Orient and Notts County last season - has been offered a new deal.
The Addicks sold star striker Darren Bent to Tottenham for £16.5million yesterday

Re: CC Championship 2007/08 Ante-post
Do any bookies offer that options, for example: "who will finish higher Barnsley or Colchester? Any info about them?
Any bets against Colchester might be interesting as they look like a sinking ship.

Re: CC Championship 2007/08 Ante-post
First impressions I think Charlton are worthy faves , WBA may struggle but I think the blades are a good shout if you can get over 10's. Robsons done this league quite a few times now and he's got the dosh to splash.
Bristol City would be my outsider , they could attract some investment and kick on

Re: CC Championship 2007/08 Ante-post
Blue square Season match bet
Colchester United v Bristol City
Colchester United 5/6 Bristol City 5/6
I could be tempted with Bristol City there, i think there's something good happening down at City too and with G.Johnson in charge i think they will hold their own this season.
I'm a bit in the dark as to what troubles Colchester have though? Don't they move into a new £14m after this season. I guess the signing of Sherringham is a negative, he'll get knocked about a bit in this league wont he? Have they lost some of their better players from last season or is it the change of chairman?

I agree with what you've said about all 4 clubs there Keem.
I'll shout Sheff Wed for a posible handicap bet also.

Re: CC Championship 2007/08 Ante-post
Thankyou kop666.
Colchester have lost their players and the next one is on the way, Wayne Brown to Hull. This club have no ambitions.

Re: CC Championship 2007/08 Ante-post
Going on last seasons standings, Bristol City would have to get inside the top 10 which I think is about the limit of the upper hopes of City fans.
I'm not sure that price is particularly generous for those looking to back City but while I am a fan of the head-to-head bets, you are not just backing City to do well, but also Carlisle to do badly.
I've been keeping my eye out for the championship spreads but not seen them anywhere, can anyone shed any light?
However, for those of you who are interested, City have made two decent signings in the pacy winger Ivan Sproule from Hibs and a left winger from Wolves who left Yeovil under a cloud when Johnson was in charge - Michael McIndoe.
Both players seem to remain highly rated by fans of their previous clubs according to what I've seen on the forums.
As he did last year, the City boss has taken the team to Latvia for the week. Johnson managed Latvia before he took over at Yeovil and obviously has ties over there. 3/4 trialists have gone along including the 21 yr old, 6'2, Celtic striker - Kjartan Finnbogason. The player has already had a trial with Gothenburg who by all accounts were impressed but already have boatloads of strikers and has talked of wanting to play in England. Having followed the story in the local media and on the forums, it seems if City want him, he will come.
The other trialists are pretty much under wraps but Johnson expects to make 1 or 2 more signings before the start of the season.
However, a very strong rumour suggests that a deal for Lee Trundle has been agreed and he is also on his way to Ashton Gate. Make of it what you will!
