FA Cup Final 19th May

FA Cup
19 May 15:00 Chelsea v Man Utd 2.62 3.00 2.62

Odds Bet365

As the odds suggest theres nothing in this one and all the pressure will be heaped on Chelsea. Tough call that should result in a real battle and no doubt plenty of cards.

Re: FA Cup Final 19th May

Are you serious about Hilario playing as a midfielder?

Mourinho may have said it (i don't really know) but the former translator says loads of stories if you ask me. If he said that (which I doubt but there is a chance) he is probably preparing the grounds to blame Chlesea's injury crisis if he loses another one.

For the former Portugeuse translator it's either the refs, or the assistant refs, or the FA, or the weather, or the other team playing unfair and diving, or the pitch, or his injury crisis, or Uefa, or ...
It is never his team that plays total football and should win all its matches by 5-0 at least.

I am gonna miss this guy. He makes me laugh. When he leaves Chelsea, he may go and manage a Greek club (lowering his salary as no team can afford him). They've got loads of managers like this over there and he's definetely gonna be in his element. What a waste for the greatest manager of all times to be in English football. Noone can actually understand his greatness over here.

Fair enough, he may even use him if he goes 2-0 down...
My comments stay as they are. Man Utd draw no bet for me.

Re: FA Cup Final 19th May

I have in my local bookies under 1.5 goals with odds 2.9 and I go on that odds with medium stake. I expect match where both teams will play very carefull and it could be draw.
Man Utd UNDER 1.5 @2.9 3 points

For anyone wanting to back Chelsea for the outrights they are evens at Boylesports and Willam Hill and just a tad under evens at betfair.

I fancy a draw full time and United to run out eventual winners.

Re: FA Cup Final 19th May

This year's final is a fitting showpiece for the new Wembley stadium, featuring the top two teams in the country. With a tight match in prospect, even the bookies can't agree who are the favourites. Instead of trying to predict the outcome, here are a couple of bets that seem to offer decent value:

First yellow card - We can expect Cristiano Ronaldo to feature prominently, as he tends to do on the big occasion. This is normally bad news for the opposing fullbacks and Ashley Cole, who likes a tackle, looks good value at around 12/1 (with doubts remaining over Cole's fitness, Wayne Bridge might also be worth considering at 16/1).

First goalscorer - In Gary Neville's absence, Ryan Giggs will lead United out at Wembley and wouldn't it be typical of him to cap the occasion with a goal. He's only managed six goals this season and is yet to score in the FA cup, a statistic he will be keen to change. Odds are currently around 12/1. In a tight game, set pieces could be crucial and John Terry is always dangerous at corners and free kicks. Amazingly, he has only managed a solitary goal all season but always carries a threat and might be worth backing at 20/1.

Re: FA Cup Final 19th May

Don't like stating the obvious but this is a very close one to call. I'm swaying towards Man Utd and that is purely down to the Chelsea injuries but until you know the exect starting line up you don't know how much 'mind' games Mourinho has actually been playing.

I'm looking through "BLUE IS THE COLOUR" tinted glasses here and I cannot let myself back Man Utd........................... I just can't

Re: FA Cup Final 19th May

A slightly more risky alternative for anyone thinking of betting DNB...

Too Close To Call
Chelsea v Man Utd
FA Cup Final - Sat 3pm BBC1/SS1
Money-Back Special

If you back a team to win in 90 minutes and they fail to win in normal time but lose on a penalty shootout, then Paddy Power will refund all win-draw-win bets on that team only.

Re: FA Cup Final 19th May

I have a feeling Mourinhio is trying to play this game down with his whinging and wailing about not having any fit players left in the squad, if he carrys on he'll have the brew boy and canteen staff on the pitch..

If he is genuine in his comments then United must be highly fancied here but teams news will be vital imo as i'm sure Mourinhio is trying to play the underdog card.

Of the players we know are definately out i'd say Carvalho will probably be missed the most as he's been immense the season and Chelsea have no real replacement for him, Ferriera is not in the same league and Essien allthough playing with his heart on his sleeve is not cut out for Centre half and would be more effective in his true position in midfield.

Drogba being back will be a real bonus for Chelsea as they are struggling up front at the moment and he always poses a threat and is as strong as an ox diver or not.

No matter what they will have their work cut out as United are at virtually full strength , Ferdinhand and Vidic should be back to near full match fitness which should take a lot of pressure of the midfield so they can do what they do best which is playing on the offensive whenever they can and supporting the front two with every one of Utds midfield players capable of scoring.

Uniteds biggest problem looks to be who will play upfront alongside Rooney, a problem Mourinhio would love to have.

If this was a league game then i'd fancy a low scoring game but i have a feeling they will both be going out all guns blazing for this one as its the first final at the new Wembley and i wouldent be surprised to see a few goals with the game going into extra time and decided on pens.

Re: FA Cup Final 19th May

I'm afraid it's a gut feeing here, but I feel that Chelsea will ultimately run out as winners..

Mourinho loves his adversity scenarios, and you get a pretty good one here..I think they will enjoy their role as 'injury-ravaged underdogs who nobody likes' and Mourinho is strangely underkey in terms of making outrageous comments..

I wish I could make some meaningful comments about tactics and squads, etc, but I can't.. All I know is that Chelsea will be fired up for this as much as if it was a Premiership decider, or a Champions League Final. A 'must win' game for them, whereas Manchester United I feel will be enjoying the 'day out' more having won the Premiership..

Chelsea to win the FA Cup outright - 2/10 stake @ 2.08 (betfair)
