Hitchikers Guide To The Galaxy

Went to see this today with my son, expecting more than the under budget BBC series.

The storyline far from being improved upon however has been cut too much in the wrong places and added storyline has no real impact infact added a drag factor.

I know the special effects needs were one of the main points to not creating this film, but the obvious lack budget shows in the directing, special effects and even the cast. Poor effects for this day and age & attempting to cover with humor is quite different to being humorious.

They even used the Marvin from the origional series (also for humor in a scene with the Vogons) but this even to an avid fan of Douglas Adams was lacking.

Hope they improve in the next film (as the end was left more than wide open).

5/10 (wait for the tv release to watch

Re: Hitchikers Guide To The Galaxy

The guy that played Arthur in the tv series was also in it mate. You not spot him? Just his heid it was. At least, it looked like him.

I thought the film was terrible. Dreadful. The dialogue was amateurish, the directing was...... well, the best way I can put it is - it was like watching an episode of Grange Hill. Crap acting too. Awful. What a waste of money. I hate life.
