I am going to the South of France in a couple of weeks and the train journey is 10 hours there and 10 hours back.

I am after one, or more books to read on the way.

Any suggestions?

I always read at least two books at the same time on a long journey. Then, if one becomes a chore, you can switch to the other one.

I was looking at something along the lines of Homer - a bit of ancient greek mythology.

Or maybe a funny autobiography, or a book on the tour de france, or kangaroos.

Anything really.

I wouldnt mind reading the Biography of Marco Pantani, the Italian tour de france rider who died of a cocaine overdose. Seen it in waterstones and it looked interesting.

I've just been reading "The Night Watch" by Sergei Lukyanenko, it the first part of a tetralogy about two supernatural groups and involves vampires, mages, witches, etc but it's all based in modern day Moscow.

Well worth reading if you're into that sort of thing. Just about to start on the second "The Day Watch".

For those interested there's two films loosely based on the first two/three books which are worth watching but apparently they miss a lot of the stuff from the second book and end it prematurely, despite there being a further two books to come!

Just got the damned United book as mentioned above. I have another one to finish first so won't get it started until at least Wednesday but looking forward to in.
