Re: Outright betting
Be wary of advice particularly from those aftereventing funsters over at Big Brother Online who've backed the top four in the market (they'll never state their bets before an eviction but will happily tell you how much money they've won afterwards...the scumsuckers).
They're convinced the dullard will win again in that Kathreya is a false favourite and that this time it's Dale's turn to win. We'll see. |

Re: Outright betting
I can easily see a Dale win Trick - I didn't see anywhere he could turn it round after Jen went - looked far too dim, a bit too aware of the cameras and how he's perceived, and always coming across badly in arguments. He has come full circle tho - a lot more laid back, getting really involved in the house, and for me the two most important factors are both the help he has been getting from the producers(possibly another poignant Dale moment to end on tonight...will be interestiing to see if its included) and he is v popular in the house, possibly the most popular, and is in very little danger of being up before finals night.
For most people, the damage done by his entry VT and 4 weeks of being a complete bore would be irrepairable, but those rules never apply to the teenybopper eye candy, who get every chance to redeem themselves. Anthony came through a house of huge characters to win by just being one of the lads - as I say I didn't think Dale had anywhere near enough personality to repeat that, but he's looking like he has potential and is getting a helping hand...and in a year where all the market leaders have fairly big question marks against them, and with fairly modest ratings, the 'default winner' becomes a big possibility imo. |

Re: Outright betting
I guess it really all depends on how the show pans out. Dale is a lot better than he was, but he's still certainly not a character or a big personality, but in a house that's quite weak in terms of winning potential, it might be enough to be the pretty boy. I think quite a lot will depend on whether the 'journey' candidates(Luke, Darnell etc - much bigger winning potential, but also big chance of them being nominated, so up to them how it goes from here) take their chance, otherwise it's default winners.

Re: Outright betting
Apropos of nothing Darnell, Luke and Rebecca think Dale will make it to the final but won't win. Rebecca thinks Kathreya's gonna win.

Re: Outright betting
He's incredibly popular on the forums - leading most of the polls at the moment, and a bit of a housewives favourite, but he doesn't appeal to the huge majority of voters as he's pretty rich, and makes it very obvious too. The british public have never gone for a rich fella in any reality show, and aren't gonna start now.
He's great to watch, I agree, one of my favourites, but he's in there for a bit of exposure for his restaurants and there's still no guarantee he'll not walk...and even if he doesnt, he's so bored that he has to be nasty to entertain himself, and that's ensuring lots of nominations, and ultimately that the public will never go for him. So I still can't see any chance at all of him even making the final...and I wouldn't go reading any forums either as you'll leave convinced he should be odds on favourite!

Re: Outright betting
Thanks, Beanie. How are you feeling about Darnell just now then? I noticed he may have fucked up his popularity a little with his 'joke' with Sara that backfired. I'm guessing he was just taking the piss but it didn't go down very well. I'm really struggling to pick a winner and only bet I have still is Rebecca @ 75.00 and a little on @ 80.00
I may have to consult my pal's wife again.

Re: Outright betting
I may well have rose tinted glasses with blinkers attached as I have had a massive green balance on Rex with Betfair for quite a few weeks, but I feel that he is motoring along quite nicely.. Admittedly he can be nasty, but he also comes across quite a genuine guy irrespective of his so-called riches and he seem fair, balanced and honest unlike most of the others.. I must admit I keep seeing it mentioned about him bragging about his restaurants and how he wants to use this show for a springboard, but from what I've seen, it's the other Housemates that seem to have this issue about his restaurants almost to the point of obsession.. I havent really seen him banging on about it on the highlights show. He is quite happy to annoy the other housemates and the problem they have is that they are playing the game and so obsessed on how they are portrayed to the public that they can't do such a thing. Rex doesnt give a shit and in some ways this is his appeal.. He also has an ally in the favourite Kat and this may well be to his advantage come the end. I also think that the more devious and gameplayers (step forward Ratboy) will realise when he constantly survives the evictions that he is actually popular and they may well retreat from targetting him...Can't wait to see Ratboy/Bex's faces tonight..
In some ways I view him as being similar to Jason from Big Brother 5 (?) He was hated by the housemates but he just wouldnt go and in the end he was runner up to Nadia...Sorry Beanie but I see every chance that he could make the Final (Kat and Rex as the final 2 perhaps?) |

Re: Outright betting
God bless you, trick. I find Rex quite a pleasant chap, too and I would rather be betting on him now than Darnell if I'm honest. One thing sticking in my mind and bothering me a bit and is something he said about binning mobile phones rather than recharge the battery. I hope people forget that.

Re: Outright betting
We'll deffo have to disagree on this one then trick - I just don't see the largescale support for posh lads - every successful BB contestant almost without exception has been fairly common, and ultimately if he does amaze me and make the final few, who is going to vote him as a £100k winner when he's the one that certainly doesnt need the cash.. I don't think much of his restaurant chat is shown mainly because once its shown once or twice theres not much point doing it again but he does do it alot - it's intentional to wind up the others of course.
Re: Darnell - HoH was always going to be virtually impossible to come out well from and he's done about as well as could be expected, but its natural that he will become a bit of a target next week so I think we'll see a backlash, probably double digits in the winner market, which I'll take as my cue to make him a positive in my book again. |

I guess we both talk according to our Betfair books so it's difficult to be completely objective. Personally I am now edging towards Kat as the winner... Not particularly original I know, but she is just another genuine girl, different, just wants to help, etc.. I do agree with you Beanie with regards to your Darnall comments - He will drift, but maybe this HOH will actually end up being the making of him as he hits some rocky ground in the next couple of weeks.. Think I may take some of his drifting price at some point.. |
