Dale

I'm giving the fella his own thread, as this will either be very long, or very short.

The short version - he's as arrogant and as much of a knob as he appeared to be in his VT - gets nominated early, becomes a Cezar like figure of hate, and exits amid a hail of boos.

The long version - is just a regular guy, and the type that young women will hammer the redial button for. Anthony was boo'd on his way into the house with a similarly poor VT - and he hosed up. With no other male pin ups in the house, he has that end of the market(and a huge market it is) absolutely cornered at the moment, which will both keep him safe and give him a great shout at the end.

I just read that he's in a relationship, which is great news if he sticks to that as he won't run the risk of any Cezar like nonsense(he was actually fairly popular before getting involved with Imogen and doing himself no favours.) His VT/audition was just another example of the classic gobby, arrogant entry that you need to get in there, but that I've rarely seen come to fruition.

Maybe it's 50/50 between the two routes - and given that the upside of the punt if its the normal version is surely near favouritism(there really isnt much ahead of him in the betting at the moment) then it's a superb bet IMO at current prices(15s and higher.)

Re: Dale

Hmmm, maybe there should have been a third option - not as arrogant as his VT(correct) but just dull as dishwater!

Price has drifted to almost double the SP now - looks way too big - he's done nothing, literally, and in a 93 day contest I dont think doing jack all should merit a double in price this early on.

His possible romance with Jen is bad news, but if she goes, then hopefully we'll see a bit of character.

He's up in the 30s no because the Betfair market always places too much faith in BB fan forum chatter - those forums aren't representative of the voting demographic. The demographic that are under represented(hugely) on forums are the teeny bopper female contingent(the same ones that came out in force to boot out Steph) and while he isnt doing anything to merit support at the moment, his looks will guarantee that a huge chunk of voters will give him every chance to get in their good books(and as you say, he should be there long enough to have the chance to do that, whether he bucks up his ideas and takes it is another matter.)

Still plenty chance IMO, incredible price this early on, but i'll have to fight the urge to top up

Re: Dale

To be honest I started composing a response to the outright thread, but packed in after a while 'cos there's too many housemates and I got fed up..Sad exscuse I know, but genuine. However I have saved it so it should appear soon..

Anyhoo, in the composition I did state that Dale is looking a great price at the moment.. I am on him (on Betfair), althought my big green is Rex, however the price on Dale is very good I must admit.

Also like the value on Mikey now as well, although I am digressing a tad from the Dale story..

Re: Dale

I'd agree re: Rex too. Im not sure that he'll ever get the mass of voters to relate to himi, but his price has to be too big. Let's see - he's gone in, been the house cook, been level headed, and been virtually the only one to stand up to Alex...cue price drift.

The only reason is because of the market strength of Luke and Kat - which again looks wholly attributable to forum chatter. Kat has done nothing of note - she's a character, no doubt, but can someone who doesn't(can't) take part in any deep discussions, arguments, and defining moments of the show, and only scream cookies and mispronounce words every few hours(funny once perhaps, at a push) sustain support over 93 days? Amazing price.

And while Im here, almost as amazing as the Rebecca price...17s!?!? BB voters(mainly young girls) will never, ever, vote for someone like that.

Re: Dale

On a Dale-esque note, is there any reason why you arent interested in Stuart at about 45s Beanie?

Re: Dale

He's certainly a far better runner than Dale at virtually the same price - Dale hasn't got two brain cells to rub together and just doesnt have the intelligence to be able to turn round his fortunes - only one way from him from here.

Stu coming in late is obv a negative given the trend there(Brian the only winner to come in late, and that was because the boys came in after the girls last year)...and he is in entirely the wrong group at the moment(the way he was screaming at Mo straight after the spit will have done a lot of damage surely.)

That said, that groups days are numbered - if the opposing side can get enough votes together for Jen this week then she's a gonner, and as Queen Bee that'll be the end of things and Dale and Stu can reintegrate a little more.

Romances are also bad news, so Jen going(which as I say entirely rests on her being up) would help no end there too.

Anyway, I do like those odds - he seems a fairly straightforward guy, can express himself and should be able to reverse his fortunes. He's had a pretty bad start but Jen going would give him a fresh start and everything needed to turn things round(Dale's a gonner so being the only male eye candy would be a very strong position) - so on that basis I'll wait until Tuesday, and if Jen is up then I'm on.

Re: Dale

Good news for Dale tonight I think(or about as good as it can get) - the 3 new housemates should have been the end of him - had there been some braindead totty put in there tonight(and with 3 to go in chances are there would have been) then I'd give it 48 hours before he was saying 'Jen who?' and the voters turn on him big style.

As it is, all are quite a bit older and/or a bit too switched on for Dim Dale, so I can't see him going after any of them, and as a result he, or more likely BB, have the potential to paint him as an honourable so and so for 'waiting' for Jen(waiting for what exactly I don't know.)

It's all bull**** but the type that half the dimwits voting will lap up.
