Pinnacle Finished with the US

On their site this morning....

Quote:
Effective Immediately... After careful consideration, Pinnacle Sports have chosen to voluntarily exit the U.S. market. Accordingly, wagers will no longer be accepted from clients within the U.S. as of Thursday, January 11, 2007.

Those clients who are affected will be required to withdraw their balances using the Cashier of their account. We assure all our clients your balances are available and Pinnacle will continue providing our international clients our same great value.
This really sucks for us in the States...first bet365, now Pinny....

I thought Pinnacle had already stopped with their US punters.

So what bookies have you guys got left?

Betfair have you tried? They have nearly the best prices around on most sports.

Bodog and Sportsbook are the only ones I have at the moment. I will look into Betfair, thanks Kiko

I need a good book for soccer...bodog and sportsbook aren't that great for it.

Good book for soccer then Betfair is your place by a mile mate. The price differences are larger than you will expect.

Get a free £25 bet for signing up via TDP too.

Covers soccer, NBA, NHL, MLB NFL, NCAA. Everything.

Betfair have never taken US clients as far as I know.

Would have to disagree Kiko, Betfair are no longer always the best player for prices on football. They still have some top prices but "by a mile"? Not a chance.

To give you an example, I have 10 bets on for this weekend already, only one is with Betfair, and thats a lay so it rules out most of the online bookies. Others I have used this weekend are Expekt x2, Bet365 x1, Betandwin x1, Betsson x1, Mansion x1 and unfortunately SD, Pinnacle x3!

I looked at about 660 bets from start of July to present, only used Betfair 35% of the time. Take out laying and the figure just for backing a team comes down to 25%. Still much more than any other bookie but it means 75% of the time I have found a better price elsewhere. The bookie I have used most, unfortunately again SD, is Pinnacle, 50 odds bets, nearly 8%.

SD,

If Mansion still take US clients try there, there are often the equal of Betfair now and have 0% comm on backing a team if you take the price available. Also think its only 1% if you either request a price or lay a team (not sure which!).

660 since July 1600+ for me and ive cut down a bit

Have to agree about Betfair tho.......I have that many different accounts that its very rare I miss the 'best' price, but Betfair is only 3rd on my list behind Pinnacle in 1st as well.

You have any figures from previous years? How many were you doing a year without cutting down?!

Just had a look at 2004/5 and 2005/6. 1,246 and 1,268 respectively for those years so 660 since start of July will see me hit roughly the same number again.

Re: Pinnacle Finished with the US

I've just looked at the betfair site and can't see mention of any restrictions on US residents (though I may be wrong). Strangely though there is a section on......

SPECIAL GUIDELINES FOR GERMAN CUSTOMERS

With regard to prices it's been discussed often here (myself and Crowie being regular contributors to the discussion I seem to remember). My own experience is that I can almost always find a better price on any English Premiership game elsewhere, whereas the lower down the leagues you go, the less liquidity, the higher the odds that layers have to offer to tempt people into matching their bets.

Re: Pinnacle Finished with the US

Think

Spondger can only really use ONE bookie/exchange so for best prices all round on one bookie Betfair is as good as anything.

Fair enough if you can shop about as yes will get better prices. But if only one you coulduse it would be betfair imo.

As crowie stated, Betfair have never accepted US clients and never will.
(unless regulated of course!)
