Coming Betting Season Resolutions

Sorry i have to laugh

I think i have made this thread the last 3 seasons running here and on PL and i am laughing because my resolutions go straight out the window after half time of the first games of the season

I believe ODM makes these pledges every year too.

BUT...

I am that year older and that little bit wiser, or so i like to think

So whats everyones going to be?

Few for me...

Bet strictly on SPL, EPL, MLS and La Liga as these are my most profitable and other leagues eat into my potential profit.

Im going to become more involved in trading. I have watched it very closely the last 2-3 months and havent been betting regularly due to this and i feel i have a good understanding of it all and think i will work well with it.

I will be studying more smaller markets where i could gain an advantage i feel.

I will be also creating a thread where im going to proof all my bets and im going to keep at it and not give up after 2 weeks of it.

Also trying to work with a betting bank and no more than 5% of my bank on one bet.

The plan is at the end of the coming season to see how i faired and then look to continue increasing my bankroll season after season due to hitting winners left right and centre

Re: Coming Betting Season Resolutions

Yes, I'm the same, start the season with all these good intentions, and end up not sticking to them. Will try to stick to the following next season:

- Bet only on French, Spanish, English, Champions League/UEFA, and internationals for football, plus tennis and maybe occasionally cricket. Oh, and speedway, thanks to Martin Gale's tips.

- Avoid snooker and golf like the plague.

- Avoid "interest" bets on games just because they're on TV.

- Avoid stupid in-running bets on games I'm not even watching.

Will probably think of some more between now and next season.

Why restrict ourselfs mates? I am new to this as admitted before, and not even gone full circle yet (will in october ), but this is gambling folks, and as such, its a game of opportunity as much as everything else.

Re: Coming Betting Season Resolutions

this is my analysis of this season's betting starting Aug 1st

Bank = 100 pts
Max bet = 10 pts ... only two in whole season... Rugby
Football max bet 5 pts
Usual football bet 2 pts

Welsh football

bets won = 40 bets lost = 43
total staked = 180.8 pts
total returned = 178.8 pts

football

bets won = 220 bets lost = 263
total staked = 1158 pts
total returned = 1179 pts

others ... includes rugby [normal bets] , golf, darts, horses,BB [interest bets or TDP recommendations]

bets won = 33 bets lost = 42
total staked = 161 pts
total returned = 204pts

The number of bets are incorrect due to my system not having a record of returned of stake bets.

What I have learnt from this season's betting:

Welsh football
My confidence [ and hence stake ] was not reflected in the success rate.
Top three clubs were good at home against the rest.
I had a poor run in October/November , came back into profit by March and went into loss due to the "strange" results in the last two weekends of the season in April.

Lessons learnt
1.Fixed stake betting
2.Bet on top three to win at home on the Asian Handicap [ was available from Mansions in Feb]
3.Avoid last few weeks of the season

Football
I had a terrible month bettingwise in January , mainly due to F.A. Cup draws.
I cannot resist having a bet on a televised match.

Lessons learnt
1.Avoid any cup matches .
2.Place only minimal stakes on televised games if they are only interest bets

Others
I did o.k on rugby union , apart from stupidly backing Wales too often.
I only rarely win on horses

Lessons learnt
1.With the rugby World Cup coming up in September ,try to avoid betting on Wales
2.Avoid horses.
3.Place only minimal stakes on televised events if they are only interest bets

I need to be reminded of these resolutions when the season starts please.
