Stealing Blinds

theres a whole science on this. Bottom line is that you need to steal them especially an hour or two into a tournie. Dont sit and wait for big hands. J10 unsuited suddenly becomes very playable as the blinds go on. raise it up there and if no one calls then all the better. you never had to do much and you were never a bad underdog going into the flop with no raise behind you.

How much would you stake in blind stealing later in a tournie in an average table (usual few idiots)

Ive found me investing 1/3 of my stack blind stealing and alsmost felng pot comminted if i think he thinks im just stealing the blinds

Re: Stealing Blinds

Depends on my stack size as regards to the raise komp. If I have more than 50 big blinds I would normally make it 3.5x (pot) raise. Between 10-49, 2.5-3x big blind, < 10, I shove.

Position is vital when your stealing as well komp. The less people to get through, the more likely that a weaker holding will get through (especially if you haven't played many hands previously). Unless you're picking up a lot of cards, you will need to steal at some point to keep the chips ticking over.

With anything Scottie? I find myself with 10,6 say and im on the button or 1 sseat to the right of it and i feel compelled to always raise the blinds. Do i just move all-in and hope for no callers or a bit of luck or should i forget about raising hte blinds and hold on for a decent enough hand?

Re: Stealing Blinds

All player dependent komp. If there's a guy to your left who will defend with anything, then shove a tighter range of hands. But when you do shove, you should be in good shape against the guy most of the time. Alternatively, if the players to your left are tight, then yes raise 10 6 if you feel it will get through.

  • Was just thinking there, the best type of "fuck off " is the following; You`re playing astro, 5 a side, someone shouts "handball" and the "fuck off" response is fucking class.
