Re: Nascar Thread.

Praised me too soon. Hamlin has had a mare in qualifying and with still 7 more drivers to go he is currently laying 19th. Ok it is a long race (and last weeks winner came from 31st on the grid), but this is a race where I like to have someone in the 1st 10.
At least Earnhardt (2nd on grid) and Busch (6th) give us hope.

Re: Nascar Thread.

Hamlin's Happy hour time was faster then the leader in the qualifying, so proves he has the car to beat. Unfortunately between the Practice and Qualifying, he went out to qualify for last night's Nationwide event, and ended up wrecking.
Still shaken up he took it a little easier in the main event qualifying. Tough to make up the ground on this track, but as I believe he has the best car, I feel he can still win this.

After last weeks domination by Hamlin, which due to a late puncture preventing him leading all 400 laps to victory, he just has to be the call on a similar track. Just under the radar are Jeff Gordon, Greg Biffle and Martin Truex
Well the ** selection kyle Busch won for us, (with Dale Earnhardt placed, and all the other drivers mentioned all running well). Time for bed. See you in 2 weeks, where I may have a real big price selection for you (although my 3*** nap is already penciled in)

Re: Nascar Thread.

Well after 6 events posted so far here are the figures.
6 Units staked per event.

Martinsville - +18
Texas - +15
Phoenix - +13.5
Talladega - +10
Richmond - -6
Darlington - +9

Overall +59.5.

Nascar has its All star weekend next week, so no interest there, but they resume the following Sunday in Charlotte. We also have the Indy 500 that night

Re: Nascar Thread.

Sprint Cup Championship -

Would not normally get too involved in the long term wager, but cannot resist Kyle Busch with Skybet at 9/2. With the Joe Gibbs team seemingly having a handle on all types of track, and Busch in particular in contention every week, he looks nailed on to be within the top 3 come the final 10 races of the season. And with the majority of those racetracks being right up his street, I believe he will be around 6/4 come the chase.

Re: Nascar Thread.

Normally would not get involved in the All Star Race, as it is a nonsense of an event (4 x 25 lap segments), so in theory anyone can win this. Will not assign this as a graded bet, but do feel on what I have seen, and particularly his current form, that Kyle Busch (4/1 Stan James), is far too big.
If you do play have a saver on Kevin Harvick 18/1, who has looked good this weekend (and won the $1 Mill event last year)

Re: Nascar Thread.

Well we learned alot from last nights event to help us for the Coca Cola 600 at the same track next weekend.Firstly Kyle Bush has a car that looked like it had the dogs from hell on its back, until it blew an engine. Obviously had an issue with the Gibbs package for the event as all 3 cars (Hamlin and Stewart) all lost the engines. Stewart at least did his in the practice session, so was able to race with the usual package (had to start in the rear), and did a great job in coming home 5th. Think the Gibbs cars will be on the ball next week. Only dangers appear to be the Roush Cars. More next week

Re: Nascar Thread.

I think this weeks event is the hardest of the season so far. Longest race they have, plus the added component of starting in daylight and ending late in the evening. The race is less about the drivers as to the Pit strategy, and the changes the crew make to the cars due the changing nature of the track conditions. With this in mind I am going to be careful in making my final choices, as anyone can actually win here. Last weeks all star race proved that, as one of the worst cars on the track (could not even qualify in the rags race, and only got in on the fan vote), won the race.
Despite this, it is difficult to find a big price driver you can side with, so I will be looking at the usual suspects for this week. Although my No1 may surprise you

Re: Nascar Thread.

In about 15 mins, I suspect the prices for my selections may change fairly quickly, so if you were going to play, I would act quickly.
Just a quick note on my feelings. As stated a few days ago, I see this race between the Roush and Gibbs cars (and although I cannot tip them up, the Hendricks cars are the local boys, so will always bee in contention here).
Carl Edwards (Roush) has dominated the 1½m mile banked speedways this year, but I have reasons for not going with him this week (shall not bore you with them), although he will be dangerous. I do feel the rest of his team mates have now been given similar equipment, and have caught up with him, therefore I see Biffle, Ragan and Matt Kenseth as all cars who will go really well this weekend. Kyle Busch (Gibbs) is a no-brainer really, as week in week out he has the car to beat.
Finally just to let you know Qualifying took place (early this morning UK time), and Kyle has pole, with Biffle on 2nd row and Ragan on 3rd

Re: Nascar Thread.

Gamebookers have some interesting Qualifying Match Ups available .

It would be very rude to take advantage though.
