Re: Npower League Two 4th Sep

ALDERSHOT VS NORTHAMPTON, LEAGUE 2

If your a stats man then you will be interested to know that Northampton Town are the only team in the top 4 divisions in England not to have scored a goal from open play so far this season.

Last season they relied on Akinfenwa to score the goals who has now moved to Gillingham, leaving the current crop of strikers a bit clueless.

Three draws and one loss is enough for the bookies to give them a little respect which is evident in the excellent price on offer for Aldershot.

However Northampton are winless and only scored an 87th minute equaliser on Saturday to prevent a second loss. Things didn't get any better in the Johnstones Paint Trophy on Tuesday night as they got hammered by Hartlepool United 4-0.

Cobblers manager Ian Samson went on to say - "A shambles tonight - an absolute shambles. "We didn't apply ourselves properly and I could see it coming after five minutes.''

Aldershot are a team to admire for their attacking play. They have been searching for promotion for a few seasons now and consistently are one of the best teams in the division. Marvin Morgan is one of the best players in the division and is a real assett to 'The Shots'.

Unlike Northampton Town, Aldershot did win their JPT game against Oxford United 2-0. A result that bodes well for them to take advantage of a shot-shy Northampton side.

Furthermore Northampton have been rocked by the injury of Tadhg Purcell who adds to a number of worrying issues including a striker shortage, no left back and no cash.

TIP: ALDERSHOT WIN 11/10
