Re: RBS Six Nations 2010

Ireland v Wales

Should be the best game of the weekend - both for rugby and punting. Ireland have had the drop on Wales ever since the Wales Slam and Croke Park is no friend to visiting teams. But I'm not convinced on current form Ireland should be 9 point favourites. They stuttered in their opening game against Italy (29-11, but only 2 tries), were stitched up in Paris and coould well have lost at Twickenham. Wales, despite two first half shambles - Scotland & France - have improvement in them. Can they keep the scores close in the first half? If so Wales is surely the handicap call of the wekkend, and they might just win.

22pts Wales +9 @ 10/11

Scotland v England

A nightmare to call, and probably watch. Real pressure on the two coaches.
England, just, to win but if I was going to punt the handicap (I'm not) I'd probably go Scotland +4. Interesting, perhaps, is billhill's standout 16-1 for no try scorer. Very unusual outcome in rugby. But. England have not gone over at Murrayfield in their last 2 visits. And Scotland have only got 3 tries to their name this 6N. It's possible, and the odds a more than fair.

3pts no try scorer @ 16-1

France v Italy

Handicap probably a bit high. But then again it could be a 35pt blow-out. Two years ago in Paris the score was 25-13 and Italy kept them very honest. There's a bit of gumption about the Eyeties this season.

11pts Italy +25 @ 10/11

Wild punt

Try 3 doubles and the treble on this. If all come in it's serious dosh and any double would be worth having.

Ipt trixie - billhill

HT/FT Ireland/Wales @ 10/1
England by 1-5pts @ 9/2
France by 16-20pts @ 7/1

Stick a quid on it (total stake 4 pounds) and it pays 676.50 if pigs fly.
