PAUL Smith is set to return in place of the injured Marc Connolly as
Rhyl bid to rejoin Llanelli and The New Saints at the top of the table.
Connolly, whose injury is not as bad as first feared, will be out for three weeks, but former Chester City midfielder Smith is back in contention to face
Haverfordwest County after missing the 4-0 defeat at TNS with illness.
"Of course we’ll miss him (Connolly) but we’ve got to dust ourselves down and get on with the job of producing the consistent form that will take us back to the head of the table,” player-boss Greg Strong told the Daily Post.
"All top teams take a beating at some time or other and it’s up to us to accept what’s happened and move forward."
Neath are hot on the heels of the leaders despite a 0-0 draw at Welshpool a week ago as they host sixth-place
Prestatyn Town.
"This is a big one for us, but all games are going to be big. But we need to be more clinical as, no disrespect to Welshpool, we should have beaten them," says Neath boss Andy Dyer.
The Eagles are without suspended defender Sean Cronin who was sent-off again in the Wales semi-pros 2-2 draw in Portadown in midweek, but striker Craig Stein and defender Liam Hancock both return from bans.
Marc Lloyd Williams is set to make his 400th Welsh Premier appearance when
Airbus visit one of his former clubs
Porthmadog.
"Jiws will pose a particular threat and we must keep a close eye on him obviously, but there are other players who could cause us problems as well," says Traeth chief Tomi Morgan.
"Airbus have restructured this season and are a strong side, who will make life difficult for us, but we have acquired a new confidence in the last few weeks."
Experienced duo Danny Jellicoe and Ricky Evans both miss
Bala's home game against
Carmarthen Town through suspension. The Lakesiders are seeking their first win in eight league outings and manager Colin Caton believes his players can turn performances into points.
"We’re playing well, and the big plus is that we‘re not conceding many goals," he said. "We‘ve not been overawed in the games but what has cost us is that we’ve not taken our chances.
"We‘re only half way through the season, and I‘ll be looking at bringing in a new striker in the New Year."
Old Gold manager Deryn Brace knows his side face a stiff challenge at Maes Tegid: "We face a massive task at Bala as only Rhyl have won there this season," he says.
"There appears to a worrying lack of will to win among some of my players. I want players who want to win week in, week out. If they don't, they will be on the outside rather than the inside."
Dyfan Pierce misses out with a hip injury, but striker Craig Hughes is set to return from his long absence
