NFL first round fixtures

First round of the NFL, hard to call in terms of form as there's only been a few provincial games, which were largely used for
shaking off the cobwebs and trying out new talent.

With that warning out of the way, I'll have a wee stab at some of the first round games.

31/01/09 - Sat night game.

Dublin v tyrone

80,000 crowd expected for this. New Dublin manager, no major
changes in the squad, who were comprehensively beaten by tyrone last year.
Tyrone going about their business, racking up big scores against monaghan in the mckenna cup and love the big crowds.
Can only see an away win for tyrone here, and would fancy it to be by 5 points+

Kerry v Donegal

Donegal won the MCkenna cup, but don't think it counts
when playing the most decorated team in the land. Also
missing quite a few regulars. With A new kerry manager, and one of the best squads about, I'd expect there'd be a few boys out to impress. Not at their best, but a kerry win here.

Mayo v Derry

Derry missing quite a few big names, Bradley and Muldoon amongst them. Mayo without mortimer, but I'm gonna say Mayo as they're at home.

Westmeath v Galway

Haven't seen much of either team so far. Westmeath had
a decent run last year. But Galway got to an all ireland
quarter final and have decent firepower. Gonna say Galway.

Cork v Meath

Be a tough game this. Meath have lost a few key experienced players. Cork.

Fermanagh v monaghan

Make or break year I think for a Monaghan team that
have been knocking on the door for a couple of years.
Fermanagh down a few key players such as Owens and
Murphy. It'll be tight, but Monaghan just about i think.

Laois v Kildare

Too close to call. Laois, but only because its at home.
A draw might be a decent bet.

Wexford v Armagh

Replay of last years all ireland that saw wexford winning.
Not sure if they can repeat that success, but with Matty
Forde in the side anythings possible. Armagh's league
form is very inconsistent, and they're missing a few big names because of Club involvement. But I have seen them
this year, and there's some good talent coming through.
A close game, but Armagh to shade it. Could be worth looking at a draw.

Divisions 3/4, I'm not great on, haven't done a lot of homework here, but hey, here goes.

Roscommon v Offally

Home advantage - Roscommon

Longford v Cavan

couldn't call.

louth v limerick

Couldn't call it.

Tipp v down

safely say down.

Sligo v kilkenny

Do they play football in kilkenny? Sligo

Carlow v Clare

Carlow

London v leitrim

leitrim I'll say

Antrim v Wicklow

A draw!!
