I'm going to have a bob or two on Newport (NC ) tonight. Not the best odds, ( some would say the value is on Thurrock ) but at 1.53, ( probability 65% ) I'd say Newport are worth a small wager.

If NC win they go 3rd and into the play off places with 1 game left on Saturday. Thats a real incentive and having seen the publicity Aldershot have gleaned recently with their return to the FL, there's a little bit more incentive for NC, another former FC member.

NC are 9-5-5-35-21 at home. Thurrock are 4-5-11-20-37 away. So NC score on average 1.85 and concede 1.11 at home. Thurrock score 1 and concede 1.85 away. If football predicting was that easy then Newport would win 2-1 !

Of course its not but taking everything in the round ( Gordon Browns words not mine ) and considering Thurrock lose around 70% of their matches away against top half teams then I'm having some hard earned on NC.
