Re: US MASTERS : 10-13th April

After much gnashing of teeth and about 3 days thinking about little else, I'm going to stay away from the shorties this year, and just sit back and enjoy the golf. If pushed I think both Tiger and Mickelson's prices look too big, as weird as that sounds. All the usual threats to them all have big negatives against them coming into this, whether it be poor course form or a bad start to 2008, and the setup of the course, with its advantage to big drivers who can scramble around the greens and putt consistently, is just tailor made to both their games.

I think Tiger wins this - he doesn't make mistakes with any regularity, and his reading of greens and ability to handle pressure putts is completely unrivalled, and that's usually the difference on a course like this. If he's on song the only man that can live with him is Lefty, but Phil's in slightly dodgy form coming into this where, by his own admission, his short game isn't up to scratch. Thats the one area where i'd rate him above Tiger and so he needs that to work, and a punt on either means its a bit of a guess as to whether it is or not.

Na, will sit back and enjoy with a few longer shots and some 3 ball betting - maybe even get a final day group with the 2 in if we're lucky.
