Bettingzone Market News:
1430: In a dramatic turnaround,
Hillary Clinton is no longer the bookies favourite to become the next President of America.
Instead, she has emerged as the hot favourite for the Vice Presidency with bookmaker
Paddy Power chalking her up ahead of all candidates at short odds of 5/2.
Fellow Democratic nominee
Barack Obama and Republican Senator
John McCain have emerged as the 13/8 joint favourites to win the Presidential election with Hillary drifting to third on the bookies list at 7/4.
Other names being tipped for the Vice Presidency are Mike Huckabee at 4/1, John Edwards at 10/1, Condoleeza Rice at 16/1 and even former President Bill Clinton at 100/1.
Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for
Paddy Power said: "There seems to be a lot of unrest amongst the public with speculation mounting that Hillary may be running out of money. "This might explain the U-turn our punters have taken. Obama has gained a lot of support and momentum since Super Tuesday - but there's still a long way to go."
