Thats the exact thought my mate Jesus mentioned to me yesterday exactly why they haven't gone for Baros but like AFU says Souness musn't rate him at all which is surprising compared to some of the pish that Souness has signed before.

Sounds like Newcastle may have some financial worries, Luque nor Baros would of cost a huge amount in transfer fee's or wages. They were bluffing about Owen as they knew that he wouldn't sign anyway.
