Re: The Famous Fantartantastic Scots Thread!

Mickey

To be honest there is not much I have fancied in Scotland since the beginning of the year. Div 1 was terrible bar Falkirk, Div 2 even worse and Gretna and Peterhead aside Div 3 was no better. There is a little bit of form in the SPL but then you have Pars 5 Dundee 0, where the hell did that come from.

Anyway, some thoughts based on last couple of weeks.

If Soutar is in goals and is as bad as reports and he himself suggested then ICT, with 1 defeat away from home since the end of November would have to be fancied. Of course the one defeat in that 9 game run? 3-1 at Dundee in middle of January.

However Dundee "need the points" :cussing:

A lay of Dundee at Evs would be a good bet, even 2.25 would interest me. They have lost 4 in a row now including 3-2 at ICT in April.

Would leave Hibs v Dons alone, leave the OF alone.

Livi have 2 losses in last 10 since end of February. One of those was to Celtic. Good win at ICT on Saturday. However Killie are unbeaten in 4.

A point would leave Livi on 35 pts. Which means that going into the final week they would have Dundee and either Dundee Utd/Pars (or both) below them and a home game v Dundee in the last week of the season. Meaning another draw would see them safe no matter what Dundee do this weekend.

A point for Livi then?

I think 1.90 and I am sure better elsewhere is a big price for Dundee Utd. Unbeaten in 5, wins at Ibrox and v Hearts in that lot, 3rd best 6 match form behind OF. Dunfermlines 5-0 win on Saturday was a first win in 11. They have lost 14 from 17 away from home this season, 2 wins and 1 draw. They have taken 1 point from 33 away from home in last 11 games. And of course their last away win was....2-1 at Dundee Utd at end of October.

If you ignore the Dunfermline win on Saturday, a combination of the Leishman factor and Derek Soutar then you have to say Dundee Utd look a decent bet this weekend.

Pars have only scored 6 goals in those last 11 away games, conceded 27. Have conceded 2 goals in 10 of those 11 aways. Have only scored 10 away all season.

Summary

Dundee Utd to win, above 2.00 would be nice
Lay Dundee at 2.25 or below
Livi to draw with Killie
