It depends on what works for you. I rarely bet below 1.40 on singles although I do use doubles with low odds.
I like betting odds against > evens. I had a 12/1 (against Gasquet) and a 9/1 (against Petrova) winner during the French Open betting against players I felt were injured which is something I try to look out for. If you make a profit it doesn't matter if you are betting short odds, long odds or a mixture of the two.
