Tiger Woods not to win a Major in 2007 - A cracking bet !!

Some of you may think I’m mad thinking this, but I have my reasons…! I placed this bet myself back in April just before the Masters. At the time the odds were 4.00 for Tiger not to win a Major, in which I placed a sizeable 3 figure bet. My thinking at that time was that if Tiger was going to win a Major – the Masters would be the one, and of course, although close at times , he didn’t ultimately win and the odds understandably have fell. Although there are still 3 Majors to go, I believe this is still a great bet at 2.54 (Betfair). Why you may ask. Well the key to it is that Tiger’s wife is due to give birth in July. The date is surrounded in secrecy but bearing in mind The Open takes place during July then theres a good chance he might not even compete. Also, he is going to be dedicating a bit of time off with his new child which may well affect his practice game and his mindset to the extreme that he could well just rule out the PGA (early August). The US Open is probably his main goal, as this takes place in June 10th. This is historically his worst Major (2 wins out of the 12 Major wins). I don’t think he is firing on all cylinders anyhow and that aside I just cannot see him being at the top of his game – particularly mentally. Coupled with this is the very fact that with this kind of bet you are cheering on about 200 other players against him at each Major – and the fact that you’ll always get one or two players who play out of their skin I cannot stress how much this is a good thing (note - in my view!! )
