Re: Eastern European games 1-3 May

I'm going to Italy for a week tommorow very early morning and will be back for Legia-Pogon friendship game on sunday

So few facts for those interested in polish cup final :

Korona Kielce VS Groclin Grodzisk Wlkp.

1.05.2007 , 12:00 local time

venue - Gks BOT stadium (Belchatow); capacity 6870 ( ),

one game, extra time if draw in regular time, penaltys if draw in extra time

Those two teams was minor regional teams not known in country well untill late 90s(Groclin)/~2002 when they was bought by chairmans of big polish companys, whos made them go to ekstraklasa (keep the silence how they did it ).
Korona's biggest succes so far is 5th place in their first ever season in ekstraklasa (2005/2006), quarterfinal of cup in 2005 (when they had lost vs Groclin 2:4 at home and drew 2:2 in Grodzisk Wlkp. as a 2nd league team back then). So they can go into Korona's hall of fame tommorow by winning it.
Groclin should be rememberd by Hertha Berlin or Man City fans, couse of eliminating those teams from uefa cup back in 2003 i guess (with players like Rasiak or Niedzielan though). Two times vice champion (03/04;04/05), polish cup winners in 2004/2005 season (as stated earier, they had beaten Korona in 1/4 then).

A win here will give a pass to uefa cup 2007/2008 elimination round.
Very important factor for both teams, but imo a little more to Groclin, couse this is their ONLY way for euro cups, while Korona, wich is 3th in the table atm, have still chances for europe through league (1st place - cl elimination/2nd-uefa elimination/3rd-intertoto cup).

From betting point of view:

Level ball handicap looks a perfect one for this game without doubt. Groclin have very dissapointing season in the league (they aim was euro spot as always in last years), however they've achived cup final in nice way, and by winning it, they could forget about league dissapointment, and have realatively good season (or very good, as their chairman will be more than happy by ppl seeing his company name "Groclin" in uefa cup ). I kinda like they way of building the team, wich have many experienced players (few ex national players also) + young guns. They are buying cheap (or signing for free), and selling players for much more abroad . They have catched nice form lately. 5 goals in last two league games, 6 points (+ win over Cracovia 1:0 in cup).
Korona is imo much more naive team. I think they in some moment actually belived they can grab both title and the cup. Maybe, but not without adequate covers on many positions. They was underachiving when some first team players was missing or playing bad on a day, and whole team suffered then (substitues ...). Their play was also quite naive for such a goals. All out attack, scoring a lot, and not saving themselves (i think they understood this in last weeks). Their "achiless foot" is defending. Real shaaaaaky one. However, on their day, they are able to score much more than they could conceed. Their displays are not impressive lately. Still trying to be that hard core attacking team, but smt is not working anymore. Also theres a roumors that their coach will lose his job soon. But ofcourse, this one game can change a lot in this team (in both good and bad way). As for injuries, it's not known yet, but Groclin as i remember doesn't have major problems, Korona could miss nt defender Golanski.
All in all, if someone want to bet here on one of those teams, imo it must be ah(0) bet. My favourite is Groclin here as more mature team. But no bet for me, couse i will be faaar away
