Bradford City striker Dean Windass has stunned fans by moving to Hull City on loan until the end of the season.
He has been the Bantams' leading scorer for he past three seasons.
Although he is nearing 38, Windass has again proved himself a reliable goalscorer in League One this campaign and has notched 12 so far.
He has long been coveted by Hull City, his home town club where he started his professional career in 1991.
Colin Todd told the official Bradford City website the loan move had been agreed for financial reasons rather than footballing ones.
Hull are currently battling against relegation from the Championship and could be looking for a short-term boost from Windass's proven goalscoring record.
It was only in October that Windass signed an extension to his Bradford City contract that will see him stay at the club until 2009.
At the time he said his ambition was to become the club's all time top scorer by the time his new contract ended.
