Read three in the last week , all three very enjoyable and really funny , quite a strange sort of humour , but funny non the less.

Mohammed Maguire
Synopsis
A dark and bleakly funny fable from the author of Divorcing Jack. A little boy left for dead when the US Marines destroy a terrorist training camp in the Libyan desert, Mohammed Maguire is brought back to Ireland, the land of his mother's birth, where he is treated as a public relations commodity by all sides of an argument he doesn't understand, but which he can see with the clear eyes of a child. A dark and bleakly funny fable, Mohammed Maguire is in some respects quite different from Colin Bateman's continuing series of Dan Starkey bestsellers, but with its humour and wild imagination it will appeal to his growing army of fans.

Belfast Confidential

Synopsis
They say moving house is one of the most stressful things you can do. Well, as far as Dan Starkey's concerned, 'they' can stick it where the sun don't shine because right now helping his wife with the unpacking is the least of his worries. No sooner than Dan has moved into his new Belfast home, his best mate, Mouse, is murdered - leaving him to catch a killer, become editor of the obscenely successful scandal magazine, "Belfast Confidential", and compile the much-coveted Power List.

Cycle of Violence

Synopsis
A sequel to "Divorcing Jack", set in a mythical Northern Ireland town. Drunken journalist Miller is sent as a punishment from his Belfast newspaper to small-town Crossmaheart as a replacement for someone who has disappeared. Once there, he falls is love with the missing man's girlfriend.
