Re: Top 5 Books Ever

Some Classic books being mentioned now...

"Dice Man" - I know Komp's a fan. I liked it too.

Couldn't get on with "Wilt" for whatever reason.

I also have "Zen" and stopped reading 3/4 of the way through.

I also used to read "Just William", but then I used to read Enid Blyton so I suppose I can't be ODM's long lost brother really.

Though I did read "The Gambling Man (?)" as I caught it on the box and wanted to know what happened in the end.

On a similar theme "The Bombidiars" (sp?) is a great book about Bond trading, which is also essentially gambling.

Loved "Catch 22", Yossarin's a class act. Also loved "1984" that was mentioned. It also pisses me off having to buy razor blades and would consider taking a one a day pill to stop this. Cutting my bollocks off would be a bit much though.

Moving on.

"Mr Nice" was a good read but I'd rather he stuck to drug smuggling indiscretely than talking about it on chat shows and magazines as the voice of "Yoof Culture". I also don't like him using the Chinese (had to be the Chinese didn't it!) couple as a travel agent front and getting them banged up.

Read "Mockingbird" just recently, a good book. Still need to read "Grapes of wrath".

"American Pyscho" was a good, disturbing book (just the way I like 'em!) but the ending wasn't there for me.

That Ian M Banks book by the way was about two races of people and a big space creature that floats around trying to get a shag for enternity. Can't remember the title or be arsed to Google. Distinctively average anyway.
