No exact opposite Kiko, tight play is rewarded more at cash games than tournaments for sure. As long as youre talking 10 seaters that is. Looser play in tournies will see you doing better than playing really tight imo overall.
Dont worry about that K4 bollocks players playing those sorts of hands may experience short term luck but will lose all there money in the long run. Playing tight in a full ring cash game is the way to go for sure, Id strongly discourage doing anything else.
