Re: I PLAYED THIS HAND PERFECTLY THREAD

Tourney last night at my local poker club....
20 players left, I was shortstacked for ages then hit a wee run of cards to get me back up to just under average stack.
Pocket 7s in late position, everyone folds to me I raise to 3k (bb is 800 at this point I think) small blind folds and the bb calls.
Flop comes A 3 4, I check, bb checks.
turn is a 5, I dont like this much
considered making a bet but checked it, bb tosses in a 5k chip. I am thinking about this as if I call this its gonna end up costing me my stack I reckon, I dont think he has the 2 from calling the preflop raise unless maybe he has 22 and I think its possible he has an ace rag. So after a bit of thought I reraise him for my stack of about 20k ish and he mucks em making me a decent stack to build on from there

ok, so its maybe not "perfect" in fact I know its far away from it but I enjoyed it for a few reasons...

1) I play online and this was my 2nd proper "live" game (i.e not with my mates having a smoke) first time I played in one of these I finished 3rd.
2) The bb was Dave Colclough.

guy sitting next to me is giving it well played and Dave grinning at me and goes "trapping me with your ak? I folded an ace" and I am like "ak....sure"
Theres no way he folded an ace, his bet was obviously just an attempt to get me out the pot and he was never gonna call my bet.
From some of the comments on this thread, I;ll prolly get pelters for it but leave me alone! I liked how I played it

I made it to the final table and ended up finishing 5th with 1st to 4th paying bit gutted as I shoulda prolly got away from my hand that put me out but overall I thought I played pretty well and that was the only hand in the full tourney I am looking back at this morning and thinking I made a mistake.
